I was about to do the same Kittles. There's lots of confusion out there still!

I think John would have stayed if it HAD raised money for CIN from the votes. As it is, it's become too serious this year rather than a charity event.

I tried this a few days ago but the thread was largely ignored and sped off the front page. Maybe you should ask the mods to make it sticky as I do agree it's ridiculous to hear that line trotted out so much. Good luck

Yeah - it's an FAQ, after all.

For Bob's sake, when will people listen;

SCD IS NOT RAISING MONEY FOR CHILDREN IN NEED THIS YEAR.

So please stop using this as an excuse for peoples voting motivation (or otherwise).

Did we ever find out why it stopped this year? Greed is a terrible thing.

Also covered here - it's worth saying more than once so the Sun readers get the message.

Greed?

It was in line with the new guidelines drawn up over phone-ins. If I'm not mistaken, the BBC doesn't get the money, and the phone-in fee has been reduced accordingly.

By the way, an interesting fact - did you know, this year, SCD does not raise money for charity?

Not a lot of people know that.

Apparently.

I think it has made a big difference to the competition, it has taken the light hearted nature from the contestants and the judges. Now it is just competitive rather than for fun.

Do you know what's really funny though? Guess what I just read on the BBC news article about this...

"Money raised by calls to Strictly Come Dancing goes to Children In Need."

I don't know whether to or

Actually, I think it has changed the competition.

My theory is that the fact that the phone lines are now only open for 90 minutes makes the votes more susceptible to "fanatic" voting this year.

My parents watch the show every week - and have done since series one - and also watch ITT most nights. They had no idea until I told them a couple of weeks ago that CIN aren't getting any money from the votes - and were quite angry that it isn't made clearer each Saturday. The message obviously isn't getting through, so well done for bumping the the thread!

Maybe we should complain to Ofcom about the shocking standards of BBC journalism?

No, that's far too boring, let's whinge about bullying a bit more....
