Will other less able dancers also quit ?

Will Jodie who I love feel that she has to bow out because " superior " dancers have gone before her.
Surely this demonstrates the absurdity of John being made to feel he has to leave. Why have a public vote if the less skilled dancers as percieved by the judges have to fall on their swords to appease them?
The whole uplifting feel of a show, where we are shown how dance is open to all including the left footed, the old and the overweight is gone.
I am very sad and i speak as one who never voted for John but respected the publics right to vote for him if they wished.
This is a total mess and I hope it gets sorted out!

I agree... I think its totally stupid that he felt the need to leave just because the judges etc made him feel like he shouldn't be there. Its an entertainment show FFS Where does it end like you say??

Alot of people would say that Cherie is a better dancer than Jodie so should she leave too? God only knows what might happen this weekend.

Jodie can quit if she wants to. I'm not much keen on her anyway.

They're not kept in some locked and guarded dance studio between shows AFAIK.

This is going to be the problem in future series. Next year when people are complaining about the less able dancer getting further than they should there will be speculation as to whether they should quit as John did.

It's the extent of the public support John had that was his 'problem'. No other celeb dancers have that level or are as bad a dancer - so not an issue for any one else I don't think

Not if they bring in some stupid rule change to combat the stupid voting element.

Ideas in this regard are being floated in the press already.

Frankly they should just hold the final now with Austin, Tom and Rachel in it. They are CLEARLY the best after all so the rest is just pointless. And none of that laughing or smiling nonsense either. This is a serious dance competition.

No-one superior has gone before Jodie, I feel. If it's Cherie Lungi we're talking about here as the 'superior' dancer, compared to Jodie's quickstep, Cherie's cha cha wasn't up to the mark, so she got voted out.

New rules which basically disenfranchise the public vote will probably destroy the shows primetime popularity.

I would probably still watch " Who goes Craig decides" but many will not I fear.

So you agree no point in the series then , just crown the best dancer and have done?

Thats the casting problem. The good are not quite good enough (yet anyway) and there are 3 of them. No real race on ability - though Lisa could sqeak in with the right dance. The improvement stories are either subtle (Rachel) or n0t quite reaching the same level (Jodie/Christine) Ideally it wanted a couple of v good dancers and one or too more catching right up with more people who clearly didn't qualify for the SF. As it is it risks an obvious final line up and obvious winner one way or an obvious winner facing someone who isn't the dancing competition but has a story.

I don't know about 'perceived' less able dancers quitting this year, but next year anyone who is over 40/ overweight/knows they have two left feet/etc is simply not going to sign up.

Sorry - on second thoughts I think that should read 'anyone except Richard Madeley or Peter Mandelson'. (A word of warning to the aforementioned males- you might love yourselves but the GBP don't.)

I'm not one for sweeping predictions but I guess it depends to some extent on what they do. The system employed atm is nice and simple and enfranchises the viewers....but not necessarily in a particularly fair way.

Obviously simplicity and fairness should be balanced as far as possible but without knowing the voting patterns in more detail it's difficult to determine the best alternative.
