Which pros were most irked?

Apart from James having a go at JS when he/Cherie went out, were any/many of the other pros openly peed off JS was still around? Vincent for instance?

If loads of them were, I could understand JS feeling uncomfortable with staying.

Otherwise, what was JS on about with wanting to leave 'before the fight starts'?

Sorry if already in another thread.

I think some of this may come out over the coming days when the initial furore dies down a bit. I just think John felt generally uncomfortable but who knows where this came from specifically.

I don't know about pros.. but as I said on another thread, unlike other weeks when he could "hide" with Kristina in their training room, this week he has been with all the others learning a group dance. I suspect this played a part in his decision.

One just needs one or two people who refuse to make eye contact and speak loudly and fondly about Cherie during the group rehearsal...

Although I read that Jodie and Christine and partners were not part of the playground mentality.

i am not surprised at that either , both couples have conducted themselves impeccably throughout this competion, and have the utmost respect for their respective partners and all the other celebs too. Both profesional partners have choreographed the dances to show off their pupils not the other way round.

i sincerley hope jody and christine both reach the final, but i also fear they wont.

Err -do you know if anything like this actually happened? Or are you just creating possible scenarios?

We donh't know.

James was not very nice but then we know James, he is not exactly a class act.

I could see poor Christine B felt upset on the One Show tonight, she tried not to show it. She is lovely and obviously supports John in his decision.

I cannot imagine people of the stature of Darren and Lilia, Ian, Matthew Cutler, Camilla or Erin getting upset about the way the competition was going because they are true pro's.

More likely one or two of the other competitors showed some pique, albeit unintionally. They are all so earnest this, po-faced and humourless.

It's more than that though. When John's wife was telephoned by an irate viewer that was really awful.

Sounds like possible scenarios to me. Doesn't sound like it's being presented as fact

I don't think it's fair to accuse the pros or the celebrities of something we have absolutely no evidence of, the only person who we've seen being unpleasant in James and that's hardly surprising, he'd already shown what an ass he is when he danced with Georgina.

Christine looked very emmotional on the one show tonight and said she had wanted him to stay.

I think the only pro's to have come out and openly supported John apart from Kristina have been Anton and Brian. Anton has been defending him all week on the Wright Stuff.

Ta for this.

I wonder if it's the pros or the C-list more cheesed with how desperate they are to further their careers (tho to be fair both are a cut above those on other RTV shows, esp IACGMOOH).

Honest to god! It's the Times not the bl**dy Daily Star, you would think they would know better, there was not one single fact in that article.

It was all no-one would look at him, blah blah blah. This then gets passed around this forum like Chinese whilspers as fact!

None of the present pros or celebs have made any comment, only the evicted pros, so we don't know how any of them are feeling until they tell us!

Not very nice? Not Very Nice? He was totally rubbish. I've never come across someone with such an ability to say something fairly reasonable and make it sound as if he's being an out and out b.... Scoundrel! His aggression has done more harm in this situation than anything else. No wonder he got a row from Ola after his outburst at the end of the show.

He reminds me of Sean Slater from Eastenders for some reason. He just seems very aggressive and full of himself.

I simply provided a link to the article - people can then judge for themselves.

How do you know there is not a single fact therein - are you privy to inside information that is denied to the rest of us?

I see "Wolverine" when I look at James

Lisa and Brendan were cool over John being in when they were interviewed on Saturday night Lisa said there's room for John definitely, and Brendan said he has just as much right to be there as everyone else, and he also complimented John on his graceful dance. Lovin this new Brendan I am.

Im not convinced that those two really are 'cool' about him still being in the competition. Just vibes I am picking up.

Brendan kind of expected that John would stay in further than expected and he seemed resigned to it.

Quote:
““John Sergeant will stay in for ages because he’s had loads of publicity and everyone thinks he’s funny,” Cole says, with the calm wisdom of an old Strictly hand.”

I think the difference between the two is partly down to who they've had to partner - Ola has had Kenny Logan and Andrew Castle, two celebs who arguably have got further than their dancing deserved.

In comparison, James has danced with Gabby and Cherie - two who looked good but didn't get the piublic support.

I thought James whilst trying to make some point or other was out of line saying John Sergeant wanted to make the whole of Strictly about him! I thought the whole reason he bowed out (and I am not sure whether I find this decision admirable or not) was so it did not become the sort of circus James was accusing him of wanting. James said some good things on previous shows (i.e. the one with Cherie) but went off on one today. Did you see Anton's face? He could barely believe what utter tosh he was hearing.
As for Brendan and Lisa - I love Lisa and I know Brendan is unpopular on here (I am not a fan either) but I actually thought their opinion on John sounded very genuine - no vibes, no lies, just a fair judgement on someone they have a lot of affection for. And to be fair, Brendan has always been quite positive about John throughout.
I did not see the behaviour described in the article towards john but 'avoiding eye contact' could also have been to do with their embarrassment at James's clearly pointed comments after the dance off. No one would hug John as he was not the focus of the 'huddle' and Cherie did hug him. John and Kristina looked mortified by the results of the dance off and the clips of the backstage area showed all the contestants watching and mingling and commenting. I think it is being blown out of proportion in that - yes, most of the contestants and pros want to win but they are all aware of how it works and whilst they might get a bit frustrated or irate at times, I doubt they would actually shun a well respected person because of what the GBP do.
