Watching his embarrassing performance and then people voting him back to repeat it was like the behaviour of a crowd throwing veg at someone in the stocks, yeah it's 'entertainment'

No. I found him arrogant and selfish. I was going to stop watching if he continued in the show.

Yep. We're on a one way ticket to Blandsville from now on.

Yes - and also Kristina's choreography and dancing is absolutely brilliant. I think she has more choreographical ideas than some of the longer-term SCD pro dancers (I would have loved to see the Murder on the Dancefloor dance...), and also I think her dance technique is a step up from we've been used to from some of the pros.

I looked forward to John and Kristina's performance each week and I was never disappointed.

I'm not bothered about the rest so it's the end of SCD for me after their last dance.

John's dances were an ideal time to go and put the kettle on.

I will certainly not miss his boring tone, lack of effort or arragont attitude in which he just presumed the voters would save him so why bother making an effort.

The show is far better without him.

No I forwarded them.

If I want to watch a fat OAP pad around the floor with a smirk I can go to the pub.

Charming. I could say that if I wanted to see a desperate and underdressed 30 year old woman gyrating bizarrely and rubbing herself up and down the unfortunate bloke she's dancing with I could get myself down to my local fleapit nightclub... (Guess which dance I left the room for on Saturday)

Well that's what the Rumba's like - there will be more.
John's padding bears no relation to the dance he's supposedly performing.

Hmmm, a underdressed 30 year old woman gyrating and rubbing herself up and down, or a overweight old man slouching slowly around the floor. Tough choice that one.

I think i need to get down your local fleapit nightclub, it sounds great in there.

Me too. I like JS as a person and respect him for all he's achieved, but I watch SCD to see beautiful dancing and with the best will in the world, JS didn't provide that. The dancing for me is also aspirational. I am most interested if I can visualise myself learning the dance. Who would want to dance like JS?

And yes, I was losing interest and thinking of not watching anymore, had JS not been knocked out this weekend - which is what many who voted for him wanted, as some openly stated they were voting for him in the hope of the show being axed.

Again, remembering the thread title...

TBH I liked watched the other contestants. I liked watching Jodie and Christine improve, Rachel get into her character, Austin showing rugby players can dance etc.. If I wanted to watch lame attempts and sob stories, I've X-Factor for that!

We would not say 'entertaining' but illuminating. We say illuminating because, we believe, it has shown, to us, the viewers, what a breath of fresh air, Kristina is.

She has put some of the other professional dancers' choreography to shame - many of her choreographical moves have been brilliant.

We feel some of the older hands are just a little bit jealous of her, also of Brian. Can we have some more pro dancers, similar to these two?

We feel the next couple of weeks could be a bit flat, but hopefully pick up in time for the finals.

Love to see an all girl final - Tom and Austin does not do anything for us. Most of this years contestants are just a bit bland.

John and KRISTINA did my favourite dances on a Saturday and that is why I voted for them. Why is Kristina always forgotten? Why does anyone else care that my favourite dance was from John and Kristina!! Is it because I didn't agree with them and their choice of dancers. How tired I am with all this discussion - John and Kristina have left this entertaiment show - talking about in over and over wont make it so - whether you're for or against.

He was certainly my highlight.

He was witty off the dancefloor and utterly charming and captivating on it.

It's a shame we don't have any celebrities this year who are both charismatic and very talented like previous winners.

Favouritism is not the same as John's dancing being entertaining (as in the OP).

I think the John voters (sorry, ex-voters) alight on the word "entertaining" because there's no genuine explanation for voting for him...

No. It would be the one I left the room during if I needed to do something, being as their are no breaks.

He basically did the same thing every week to different music. Joy.

Entertainment is subjective. What might not float your boat, might appeal to others.

Ah, Sid -- I wondered when you'd pop up

The thing is, I've tried to back up my view: after the dragging-along-the-floor piece, which I can understand quite a number of people found funny, John has merely walked through the routines, forgetting some parts, with his partner having to work like mad to fill the gaps. I don't see how people can genuinely find this entertaining. I think they're just saying that it is.

(I never liked Cilla Black, but I'd be able to define why some people found her entertaining.)

Other than that, we'll have to agree to differ...

anyone else think the show has lost its biggest star this year with john's exit? (i'm sure there are plenty who don't think that, but anyone else agree that he was actually the one act that was worth watching?)”

The act was repetitive after 2 weeks and the judges were right to be upset as they sent the people who were actually trying to dance home.

I saw something quite different during his American Smooth.

I saw a portly old man performing heel leads, attempting some innovative moves, keeping in perfect time with the music, comfortably managing two lifts, and as always, selling the routine wonderfully.

Top notch entertainment for me and many

Too true!

John's dancing was better than the likes of Kenny Logan who came fifth last year!

As I said, we'll have to agree to differ (Especially as in four years time I'll evidently be portly and old, but still a better dancer than JS, without any training )
