If your over weight over 40, a tad clumsy and not good looking ....

SCD has proved it's not the program for you. Maybe we should leave it to the youthful, beautious and graceful to destroy as they please? Or should we try to reclaim our show and save it from elitist snobbery and acid tongues!

I'm two (maybe three ) of these things and it's still the program for me.

Not sure about the over 40.... Cherie is 56. But I do think there should be an age limit on Strictly; we had Tarbuck leaving after one week resulting in a 2 couple final, and now John. I can't imagine X-Factor having someone of 64 on the show (having said that, perhaps they have, I don't watch it very much). And as for over weight - well Darren Gough was hardly a light weight and he managed to win.

Awwww, man, and I had my heart set on doing it next year too!

I'm all three of those things (particularly clumsy)! It's a shame I'm not famous, I could have applied for next year's series.

I'm under 40, I am almost underweight, I'm not too clumsy and I am very good looking .

Do I fit the category to participate ?

I'm all of those things and I love the programme. I want to see people like Cherie, older, slimmer, better looking and more graceful than me and an icon for the older woman, and I want to see them prove that not all older people are clumsy and not very good looking! Then perhaps I can aspire to be better than I am.

I don't want to see people like John being made a mockery of for his age. Sadly, we live in a a very ageist society and I think people warmed to John more than they warmed to Cherie simply because he was the epitomy of what everyone thinks an older person should be, whereas Cherie was not letting her years hold her back at all - and was getting no end of flack for it!

But if you've got the drive and the effort to learn how to dance/be graceful, I'm sure you'll manage to fit right in.

Even though John was over sixty, not good looking by most standards and not slim, he did learn to dance. Not amazingly but managed enough to be a decent social dancer. He was fun too. Better than the prima donna Austin and Tom who take themselves far too seriously.

Yes but if you're young, slim and attractive/pretty, you're torn apart for being either dull, fake or boringly stereotypical!

Name me one prima donna action by either Tom or Austin!

who made the first male group dance fun by making everyone dress up like a member of fame? Yep, that would be the taking himself far too seriously Austin!

You don't like them, fair enough. But please try and be respectful!

Huh??

I've never seen any action by either that could be called that.

They've both been charming.
