Does anyone know who chooses the music for each dance? Is it the professional dancer or are they told which music they have to use?

From what I understand, the pro discusses their choices with the celeb, then submits a list of possible songs to the BBC, who clear those choices with the appropriate people.

I think whoever it is must be unable to dance. Or hear. Or they just stick a pin in a list at random. How else can the many inappropriate choices be explained?
