I had a 12 month contract with 02 paying £40 a month , when I got to the 11th month I rang to give 30 days notice and was going to move to PAYG as I was happy with my existing phone

They converted my account to a sim only deal , £10 per month , 200 mins , 400 texts unlimited 02 to 02 calls and 30 days notice required .

They then credited the last £40 payment that I had made and then set up the new charge of £10 month , this meant that I got the next 4 months with no other payment as the credit for the last month of the contract paid for the next 4 months of my sim only deal . My phone number , sim and phone stayed the same .

Now my wife wants to do a similar thing in a few days time and convert the last £40 payment into a credit as above .

However she is then wanting to port her number to Vodafone on her new contract she is starting next week

What will happen to her sim only account with the £40 ish credit that doesn't have a number allocated to it ?

And what will happen to the credit balance on her account

I was hoping they would just issue a new sim and phone number so that my youngster can use up the balance on the account .

Is that possible or will she just have to port her number towards the end of her old contract ?

for me it would make sense for them to say credit is on that number, so won't move it to another number.

Once you have taken the number to another network they will disconnect the account.
You can request to have the credit refunded to your bank account but not to another simo number.
