I've read a lot on here about John not consoling Kristina after she got all tearful on ITT last night. Now I know a lot of you kit kat scoffing SCD fanatics/borderline psychotics saw this as the typical Englishmans reaction
So was he out of order? and has this changed your opinnion of him?

I felt he was slightly dismissive of her upset, but who's to know - maybe she asked him not to comfort her as it would make her fall to pieces. I do think the whole situation is incredibly unfair on her - she's done her best, taught her celebrity to dance, choreographed great routines for him and he decides to leave and doesn't take her feelings into account.

I think your turn of phrase (Kit Kat scoffing SCD fanatics!) might just insult everybody on here. That's quite a feat

Yeah.....I don't even like Kit Kats!

I just think that John is from a different generation who are less huggy and sentimental.

Well for all those who are feeling outraged on Kristina's behalf, she has said she supports him 110% and if we don't know her, who are we to doubt?

I think John is just from a generation where public displays of affection such as hugging are awkward, especially given the number of people watching, and when egged on to do so as Claudia was doing, it would appear a little false on his part. I'm sure he comforted her privately, when they weren't being watched by millions.

He's a member of the stiff upper lip school of old fashioned English gentlemen.

My DH is a huggy feely type either and he is much younger than JS

And I'm a Cadbury's Dairy Milk scoffing SCD fanatic BTW!

Two points:
1. Are you seriously suggesting everyone on here is cruel to animals?
2. Can we stop duplicating threads please? there's a thread about eating animals in the I'm a Celeb forum thank you

I thought it was obvious that if he had been very demonstrative she would have blubbed and she didn't want to do that in public, she did shed a little tear but no-one wants to completely lose it on telly.

They said they talked about the situation a lot prior to the broadcast and no doubt he gave her plenty of comfort then. For all we know he could have been crying too and she gave him comfort!

I am mildly amused by the use of the phrase 'giving each other comfort'. Moving on...

Exactly. He's never shown any similar action in either the main shows or on ITT unlike, say, Jodie and Ian.
I also think that John's emotions have been going through the wringer these last few days. So in spite of the stiff upper lip I suspect that he might have been feeling a little fragile. He looked it to me during their 'best bits' at the end of the programme.

I've just realised it's years since I ate a Kit Kat.

Now I crave one.

Can you imagine the headlines if John had embraced Kristina? The spin that the redtops would have put on it would have been sleazy to say the least - I guess that John realised that and decided not to play into their hands.

I agree. I felt very sorry for Kristina, she looked so sad, and part of me really wanted John to give her a hug, but I realised it just wasn't him to do that. I think using it as an excuse to have a go at John is a bit lame.

And mine's a peanut chunky Kit Kat, thanks.

I agree trunkster. On the one hand it is laughable how worked up people get. And on the other hand somewhat unnerving. Take that tosser who decided to phone John at home and spoke to his wife insisting that he apologise to Heather.

Well, I thought it was what Brendan said to Lisa before the dance off on Saturday.

But then I'm a Malteeser girl.
