I kn ow the pros are competitive but some of them just take it far to seriously. Yes the celebs sgould work hard but that does mean that all the fun is taken out of it. The pros get well paid and get a name of being off tv so maybe should just enjoy helping someone try and dance. If they really want everyone to take up dancing as a hobbie they have to realise most people will never be up to their standards

Its their job,do you take your job seriously or do you say that will do its only a bit of a laugh

The only pros that annoy me in any way are

James Jordan
Ola Jordan
Brendan Cole

and Vincent Simone kinda annoys me too

But their job is to show off their celeb and be a teacher. If you try your hardest and aren't very good thats all a good teacher should want. They should want to go as far as possible but you shouldn't scream at someone who is trying their best not evryone will be a great dancer

Brendan has been totally chilled this season even with a dippy partner and didn't say a bad word about John

I don't think the pros expect that the celebrities will ever get up to their standard with only a few months training. However, it is a competition and as such, people will get competitive. I don't think it's possible for the pros not to feel competitive - they've taken part in dancing competitions their whole lives, and I imagine it's now deeply ingrained in their personalities. Some of them are just better at dealing with it than others.

How did everyone get to be such delicate flowers these days.*rubs ears remebering all the balckboard erasers that made contact from my teachers in the past*

No not everyone can be great dancers agreed but the celebs went on their to raise their profile and their are some who are unwilling to to put the work required in,not all obviously.

If I cared passionately about my job I'd want the person I was teaching to care too not just see it as a leg up the TV career..perhaps that accounts for some frustration

and all the pro's are very very competitive...some just hide it better

Brendan has gone up in my estimation this series.

Well why don't they dance in real competitons. They want to make as much money out the show as the celebs. They will just have to put up with the fact they might get a celeb who just can't dance

If you can find what Anton said about the first series it would perhaps explain a bit why they did it...so they could keep an eye on it so that it didn't get taken the mickey of and diluted etc etc...somehow I think they failed on that one

Of course they want to make money...doesn't everyone? or shall we all go and live in our shacks and eat our turnips? Sorry that sounded patronizing but I don't think its valid to denigrate the pro's for wanting to earn money as much as the celebs

If you have a competitive nature its hard to take defeat..the trouble with Britain tends to be we are far too good at losing and don't have a competitive spirit..but thats a whole different rant I shouldn't bring on here

Yes everyone can make money but they have to understand that these celebs don't want to be pro dancers. Yes shout if they don't work hard but don't go on and on if they just can't do it

In six series, I've never seen any pro, even the most vocal, consistently nag a celeb who is clearly struggling with dance steps.

I dunno what you're watching, but it isn't the thing that's on my telly on BBC1 every Saturday

James Jordan has screamed at is partners and so has Brendan . Face it if its a show with non dancers you have to expect a diffrent level .

Even the sainted Len Goodman snapped at Fiona

except James with Georgina, which is why everyone hates him in the first place

Who are you talking about specifically OP? I don't think any of the pros are particularly "bad". The only ones I can think of are Brendan (who has always been dubbed as the "bad boy" of strictly) and James. Brendan has completely changed his tack this series and James is only living up to the "character" that has already been created for him. It is all contrived.
SCD is a great show, its popularity has grown over the years and I think the producers have let that popularity get to their heads by over complicating what was a good format i.e the number of contestants, boys vs girls and not latin one week ballroom the next. This whole JS affair shows they should take a step back and think about what made the show good in the first place. I think people enjoy to see the pros teach the celebs with a view to changing ducklings into swans or least showing some improvement. As someone said if you are a dedicated professional there is nothing wrong in showing passion for what you do and, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think anyone has overstepped the mark this series, in terms of how they treat their celeb partners.

I agree. Brendan has seemed more chilled, and certainly didn't slag off JS.

James Jordan should be fired. He's a bully, and has a history of it.

Because he is in love. I like Brendan too this season. He is still passionate, but has calmed down a lot. Lets hope his relationship works out or we may get naughty Brendan back.

yes is the answer

I used to love the pros and liked when we got to know them more, but the show is almost as much about them now as the celebs - and sometimes I find it a bit uncomfortable.

This year in general has been uncomfortable. The competitive side has grown, and the fun seems to have withered away.

What bullying history are you referring to ? ..... and dont just say Georgina - I need more evidence than that to understand this hatred for James on this board . Gaby and Cherie seemed to adore him .We've seen Karen and Lilia yelling at Gary Rhodes and Dom Littlewood - yet I havent noticed anyone call them called bullies .

That is an interesting point Lucilerka. I think maybe it looks more like bullying when it is a man screaming at a woman.

I'm not sticking up for James in this though, defending the indefensible is beyond me.

Golden Anemone,

How widespread is awareness of Christine in SCD? How strong is N.I. voting support for local girl?

Erm ,who is this "everyone" that you take the liberty of speaking on behalf of?

Some people may choose to say that they "hate" him, others amongst us may be more pragmatic & save over-emotive terminology such as "hate" for persons genuinely deserving of it, rather than people who do not seem to have behaved in our preferred manner on a reality TV show.

I dislike James, mainly for his unforgivable teaching's towards Georgina. He snapped at her like she were already Ginger Rogers. I'm not surprised she was a poor dancer - James spent half of the training time shouting and screaming.

Lilia shouted at Dominic because he was repeatedly looking at the clock, informing Lilia of the time they had left in training.

And don't get me started on Gary Rhodes...

IMO, James is a bully, and if you ask me, a very sore loser.
