The real Len Goodman & why SCD went pear shaped?

This report of the live tour in Janaury mentions the audience were asked to text their votes and the result.....

Quote:
“They wanted to see Louisa Lytton, in tiny sherbet-green shimmering dress, shake her hips as if she was about to take off. They wanted to see the hopeless Christopher Parker run, not dance, around the floor.”

So why were the judges acting so annoyed regarding John Sargeant.

Meanwhile is this really our Len, has fame and a fat from the States gone to his head?

Quote:
“Len Goodman is the crowd favourite, but distinguishes himself on this first night with a battalion of “bloodys” and unpleasant insults: Arlene is a “cow” and he also wanted to defecate on Craig’s head.”

If you're trying to suggest Strictly has gone 'pear-shaped', you haven't made any kind of case for that thesis at all.

Take it you didn't see the live show then???

Lens comments were part of carefully scripted banter and were completely in the spirit of the tour. Remember that there were children in the audiences and there is no way anything controversial was included.

BTW where was that review from???

the judges clearly want a certain type to win, it's the same the dance-world over. They simply don't want the 'no-hopers made good' that Hollywood movies are made of to win. They want the beautiful people to win and that is SO BORING and has absolutely no 'journey'. And that, I'm ashamed to say, is the reason why, after five intensely involving series, I am no longer engaged with Strictly. The classroom bullies have won. Whoever sad that John's situation was like being invited to a cool party and on arrival being told "sorry, but you're not dressed cool enough to come in" was right.

No wonder Kritstina was upsetl She has done exactly what was asked of her- and more! For Chrissakes,i f a professional male dancer couldn't make Cherie Lunghi (a fantastically beautiful woman & sensuous mover) look good when a prof female could make John Sergeant look terrific! I ask you! I think it is professional jealousy and the whole series has suffered as a result.

It's a great shame and a reflection on the paucity of some professionals rather than anything else.

I think the judges have got too big for their boots. Their remarks have got personal and not constructive. JS does not come from a world of acting and dance (all drama schools teach dance in various forms) he has spent his life leaning over a computer or typewriter and I for one think he has put the true spirit into SCD

I think we have the classic real judges persona and the TV judges persona, and when their true natures come out, their TV person persona tries to clean up the mess.

Because they truely believe we fall for the nice judges tv persona they put on.....just watch it on Saturday, how they are going to miss him, how they love him, how he has been great for the show, how he is a lovely man. blah blah blah.....never once will they admit or apologise for anything said to him.

Boy they must think we are stupid to fall for it...................being nasty is a choice.
