Just got my iPhone! *1 Last Question*
Sorry for yet another question on a similar subject, but I decided not to bother getting an iPhone through an upgrade at Carphone Warehouse simply because they wanted 2 months worth of bills paid upfront as my contract doesn't end until January and was just having an early upgrade.
I failed to get an iPhone in my name from o2 however, but managed it in my partners name and it's just been sent out to be delivered tomorrow. My question is, will it make any bit of difference that the contract is in my partners name except for the fact she will have to speak to o2 if I need to ring them? Reason I'm asking is that I read you have to activate the iPhone before use and read about stories of unsuccessful activations. Should I worry or ring o2 to see if my name could be added on to the account at all, or won't it make a bit of difference same as taking out any other phone out on a family members name? |

O2 dont offer name change's/ change of ownership.
You can access the account if you know the password. It wont make any difference that its in your parners name |

Change of ownership involves a credit check though.

You can access the account if you know the password. It wont make any difference that its in your parners name I've already changed her online o2 account to my e-mail address and once I receive the phone I will change the number to the new one so I can access all my info online then without the need to ring up. I basically set everything up anyway so know all the information. For some reason I just had something in the back of my head saying 'You're going to get caught out because the iPhone is complicated' lol |

As a previous poster has said - o2 don't really care whether you are the account holder when you call them... as long as you quote the right password - you don't even have to be the right gender!

"How Can I help you today sir?" (in deep voice) "How dare you! I'm a woman" |

Just make sure you and your partner don't have a disagreement otherwise she will be the one left to foot the bill. I don't understand why it was a big deal to just pay for 2 months to finish you contract. If it was like 6 months or something then I can understand.

How the hell do I add my old ringtones on to the iPhone?? Please don't tell me I cannot have 'Family Guy - Peanut Butter Jelly Time' as a text tone anymore?

you can't set an SMS tone without some serious work. You need to jailbreak, convert your sounds to .caf and then ssh them to the phone, replacing the originals.
Ringtones are easy though. Just convert with www.audiko.net, open the m4r files with iTunes then sync. |
