Organising single tracks on itunes?

I am new to the Ipod having recently bought the touch. I swore I would never buy an Ipod!

Anyway I have loaded loads of Albums on and these display as a single album with album art.

I now want to load single chart tracks on one at a time. I will have already added the album art. The problem I see though is I will have loads of "albums" with only one track on each.

How do you Ipod experts organise this on itunes. Ideally I would like to add these tracks to a "folder" and continually add to this over time. I used to do this on Sonic Stage ok.

Thanks in advance.

I think you would have to create a playlist on itunes of all the single songs. Then sync that playlist to your Touch. I'm not sure if you can create playlists on the Touch itself. Anyway, so then to listen to all the songs together on the Touch just go into playlists and select yours.

Best to organise this outside iTunes - you can put all the single tracks in a folder and tag the tracks using mp3tag or similar...tag all the tracks with the same album name ( collection / singles or similar ) then import to iTunes . Once there select all and select "get info" then check the "part of a compilation" box...that should work, you will get a single "album" with lots of different songs...if you have embedded the artwork in each individual mp3 then that should display correctly when playing

You can add to this as you go, just always tag with the same "album" name and ensure iTunes recognises it as part of the compilation
