iPhone 2.2 is out
the Street View implementation is stupidly nice.
shame they've not rolled out the UK yet.... but its cool to just pan around Times Square. Other stuff: - now a podcast section in iTunes for downloading episodes - walking directions and bus services in Maps (seems to be a few coach services in London) - multiple screenshots in the Appstore - filters in the Appstore for drilling down in a category by release date, sales -you can now delete any podcast from the iPhone... not just video podcasts. |

they haven't signed many deals with transport providers in the UK just yet. Check the Google Transit website to see what's available. |

If I remember rightly, when you tried to turn it on it would say not supported in this location or words to that effect.

Just tried to update my iPhone and get the dreaded 'Restore Mode' screen!
Two hours of reinstalling, backup restoring and resynchronising! Well done once again Apple! |

Thanks. I pretty much never connect my iPhone to the computer now with over-the-air syncing so never knew until I saw this thread lol. Updated without a hitch for me. Seems like a good update, but I won't use most of those features to be honest.

Two hours of reinstalling, backup restoring and resynchronising! Well done once again Apple! Judging by the fact the vast majority of people appear to be having no issues at all, I'd say this is a pretty good release from Apple. Fetch email certainly works again for me so I'm happy. Just wish I could say the same for the iPhone 2.2 SDK. You spend an hour downloading a 1.5Gb file for the lovely error 'mount failed' to then have to go and download it again. I'm trying to get one of my apps on the app store and I need the new SDK before I can test one of the fixes Apple suggested to me on my phone! |

Guess they just don't like me then! Don't see why it would by my USB cable or anything like that - NEVER had a problem syncing or anything. I'm convinced its just because I have too many apps.

The great thing about payandgo Iphone if I get a solar powered charger, even if I got homeless I could still have the net. There is a unit that allows you to recharge ipods via battery. Not that things are that bad at all but I always prepare for every eventuality in life. The podcast update is tremendous as there are american radio shows I love to listen to that I can update wherever I am now, fantastic.
Anyone know of some fun iphone apps out there games or utilities. I've got comet blaster, IM lite, pianist and drum pad. |

It also won't let me access my emails now, saying my username or password are incorrect even though I used email on my phone 10 minutes before installed the update & not accessed anything since!

Lol. I also didn't want to include a message of me taking the piss of the question on date & time. . . I instead chose to discreetly smile at the end of my post.
