I think it's their joint highest score. As they haven't got a 10 yet, they couldn't have bettered 36, could they? I'm sure they've got four 9's before.

Thanks, networkbabe.

I think people's preconceptions build a lot into how they feel about contestants through the series. Matt Di Angelo's EastEnder character saw him as more bopyish against the 'manly' Gethin - throw in the journey and Gethin became further supported. Zoe wasn't well loved by the public before SCD; nor were the Spice Girls hence Emma having issues. Matt Dawson was a World Cup winning player against Ray who was soap star and Spoony who was a DJ. No contest partciularly there between them.

In this situation Austin is an international Rugby Player. In comparison Cherie is well known for playing string if a bit aloof characters; Tom's Sam Strachan was nice but arrogant and smug - mud sticks. Rachel was in S Club, and was a bit of a spare part there TBH () hence the 'cold' jibes. John was always seen as a bit of a joker, a bit of a laugh (his Have I Got for News appearance helped with that) and as (tyhis sounds pathetic but) a face you smile at (with) and therefore got a helping hand from the off.

Tom Chambers dancing for me is electric, his personality is great, he's fun to watch and full of energy and charm. I'm surprised that he hasn't received a ten by now, but sure it won't be long before he does. Everytime time he comes on the dance all my family are riveted to the screen, Camilla's choreography is always supberb and shows off her and Tom's ability so well, a fantastic couple, I think the final three will be~~~Tom, Austin and Rachel.

As for Gethin - it's personal taste. His salsa was a shock and felt thrilling and exciting. I don't think Tom gives the same feeling of breakthrough, or someone dancing outside themselves, obviously difficult when you're already very good - but I can see that he's technically excellent.”

I think perhaps Gethin seemed to improve week on week until he was amazing; Tom 's dances have been OK from the start!

But I think their personalities come across in their dancing.

Tom - has a certain quality, you just know that he not only colour coordinates his sock drawer (down to shade level) but sulks for hours if someone musses the arrangement. There is just that plastic sheen about him.

Okay, 36 is still the best year, and you've still got it to come, fella, and the mid-life crisis is still around 42 and 43. And at 46, being the wrong side of 40, forme, who is a woman, and they do say (no idea who they are) that men don't even reach their peak ( which could be peak of maturity) until they're 40. So either way, you win.

I would have thought that if you live up till 80, then technically 40 is your mid-life in a way. So what if it's called mid-life? To quote some radio-ad, Grow Wise, not Old.

I don't think theres anything wrong with Tom. He seems a nice guy, hes fun, hes loving the experience, he can dance really well and i don't see the smug thing at all.

I would never vote for him though because of Camilla who i think is terrible - her choreography is all about her not her partner, her dresses are godawful and her stupid inane grin argghhh drives me insane.

Maybe if i could perfect the art of watching Tom with one eye closed to block out his partner i might be tempted to vote for him.

Saying that i loved their tango tonight as she managed to keep her gob closed (although her dress was still vile)

Rachel was more than a spare part in S Club she was the face of the group and one of the 4 people who got to lead songs. She's the lively one in the TV series. Its true that the big hits are almost all Jo O'Meara hits but that didn't do Jo any good either later without the prettier faces around her.

I can see why some people might not like Spice Girls or radio DJs but they both come with people who ought to support them as indeed do BBC 1 primetime actors. they all ought to be entertaining too to do the jobs they have been successful in . I don't imagine the country is full of rugby fans who watch SCD either - I have never willingly watched a rugby match .

Who does succeed and who doesn't seems to me to be a pretty close call with a few stereotypical success stories. Hunky males on a journey are in. Successful people, people with middleclass or "common" accents. females and attractive young females especially are out unless they are non-threatening, classless or bubbly enough (in a quiet enough way) for people to ignore anything else.

Its still a complete mystery though to me how anyone could find Matt Dawson interesting or Gethin Jones manly or find any real difference between Alesha and Emma (bubbly and sweet singers both) or Natasha and Gabby (ambitious and surprisingly good both)

The bad news is that the body may have been designed originally to fail in the 40s after child rearing. There's an awful lot of things that go downhill around there and an awful lot of odd little syndromes and disorders that suddenly decide to have a go at people around then.

The problem news is that living to 120 and longer is going to become common and if they don't make us bionic by then we will be bumping into each other with our Zimmer frames and dud eyesight. Doddery we will be.

Its been a while since I last took a look at statistics but it used to be that the UK average age of death for women was 77 and men were a bit less than that. So when I refer to Austin as middle-age, I was talking literally, although I did think he was 37 not 35.

Back on topic, I enjoyed Tom week 1 but I havent seen any vast improvement since then. I could see his tango hold was poor - as Tom feared, his arm was dipped terribly by the end of the routine - and the whole routine lacked personality. I much preferred Don's tango over Austin's and Tom's

I quite like Tom, and wouldn't mind him winning, but then of those left I wouldn't mind any of them winning.

I find Tom very likeable, and I am surprised that he hasn't yet recieved a 10. Not because I think he is better than everyone else, but he has danced better than some who have received a 10.

Aren't there only 2 in the final this year? I think either Austin or Tom will make a sharpish exit in the semi-final now, as the judges are intent on getting Rachel there any way they can.

I love Tom, and I don't think he is being overmarked!! If anything undermarked compared to the ridiculous marking of others...

His dancing is fresh and no he isn't really muscular, but he is light, and him and Camilla work really well...personally I think he may well win it!

I must admit at first I thought Tom was a little OTT then I heard that he was on a flight which hijacked and which plumetted in the sky - then I thought you know what mate - you be as happy and OTT as you want - he is happy with life - I enjoy watching him - I really liked his salsa last week

Tom is 3rd in the forum poll so far - wonder if perceptions of him are finally changing? Although he is only a few votes ahead of Christine.

I really feel that Rachel is in the final already.

The other 4 are playing for one place and it will probably be betwen Austin and Tom and I think Austin has the judges vote over Tom.

I really do feel Tom will be sent packing in the semi final.
