Yes, please tell everyone you know to avoid 3 at all costs. The tarrifs may appear cheaper, but you pay for it in the end!
It took me 45 minutes on the phone the other day to get them to cancel my contract, I had already the operator that the reason for canceling was because 'I do not use the phone anymore' - I repeated this about 3 times, he eventually asked 'please give me your reason for leaving, other than that you do not use the phone' so I said I had another commitment to another network. At this point I was put on hold at one point for 15 minutes while the guy supposeadly cancelled the contract. When he came back on the line he said he had spoken to his manager and realised that I had bought my phone from a 3 store, so go back to a 3 store and they will give you a new phone and a new contract(?), I now said 'I no longer wish to discuss this, cancel the contract now'. It took another 15 minutes still before he was able to cancel the account. I have since called back to check that he really did cancel, as I had no confidence at all in his abilities. I cannot offer any advice to you for how to get the PUK code, only to be VERY patient and persistent and ask if there is any other method for verifying the ownership of the phone (maybe throught the simcard number and the IMEI number of the phone?). |

Surely the most practical solution is to register the phone on the website?

3's product itself is pretty good and their PAYG tariff is very competitive, so IMO if they only brought their CS to the UK then they're probably be one of the most highly regarded networks.

it is the one thing holding 3 back if they ever want to grow in to a big network they need to improve there customer service or they will lose loads of people and never grow much

The contract WILL then end and you'll be sent a final bill for anything owing . |

Worst customer service by a mile.
It took me 3 months of phone calls every day to get them to send me a new phone after mine went missing after i posted it back to them. When they did post me backa new phone it was a refurb with no charger, no battery and no back for the phone. This then took another 2 weeks and still no back for the phone. Had to end up buying a back off ebay because i had enough of them by that stage. The phone is still rubbish but there is noway im phoning back or sending it back again. When my contract is up i will be moving to a company that has an english customer service. Worst ever. DO NO USE 3 NETWORK. ![]() ![]()

I never found them too bad, but when I lost my phone last week, I called them and the guy asked me if I was calling from the number I was phoning about.
Doh! |

I'm having fun with Three CS atm - before I joined them I specifically asked about coverage in the 3 places I'd need it and was told coverage was excellent - this week I move to one of those areas and guess what? no coverage at all, which their tech support confirms. AFAIC Three have missold me the contract by at best giving misleading information and at worst lying, so I'm going to keep going till my contract is canceled - I have it in writing about the coverage from them.

I have never had a problem with them. They are always helpful when I contact them. I have locked my phone before and they were fine.

Dealing with O2's UK call centre has proven far worse

I've got to say my experience on my 3 years or so of 3's customer service has been excellent. The location of it hasn't been an issue.

You have to remember that each mobile company has millions of customers. The only comments on here that stick in your mind are the complaints that overshadow the good customer service that the vast majority get when phoning their companies.
So a few hundred complaints out of many millions is a negligible. |

It is also worth remembering that they have hundreds of Call Centre staff. If you get a bad one on any provider you will report a bad experience. It would always be worth hanging up and trying again if you are talking to a numpty...I'm on O2 and have always found them to be very helpful and based here....

I have had good experiences with both O2 and Three. O2 have been truly excellent in the last few years. The last time I emailed them, they sent me a text within a few hours to say that they had replied. This was on a Saturday.

I have had responses and fixes done on my account on a Sunday by O2 and i like that, its called decent service. Most companies would make you wait until the Monday. And i like how O2 are the only network which text you to say they have replied to your email
