cook book obsession?
anyone else out there addicted to them? I just adore reading about food, and tehre is always a mini collection by the side of my bed as well as the large one in the kitchen.
The weirdest weirdest thing is though... with the exception of baking, I never cook from recipes but make it up depending on what is available or what I fancy eating. weird or normal?

I'm a cookbook nut case like yourself. I do try the recipes though. I've lost count of the number I've got. Indeed I have been known to buy the same book twice!

Yes, I've got loads and loads and magazines too, including many non-vegetarian ones (I'm a vegetarian). I adapt some of those recipes and I do try some of the recipes in most books. I'm trying a very simple one tomorrow, Ma Po Tofu in black bean sauce.
I hate ones without pictures. I'm glad Amazon reviewers tend to tell you when there are no pictures. |

Got loads too. I don't think it matters if you don't use them. What's the difference between reading a cook book to a book on country walks?

As I've said on others threads, I am a cookbook junkie and can't help myself buying them. I do use them however, not all of them - some I just read and aspire to being able to reproduce the lovely food, and others I actually can cook the food and turn out decent meals. I have no space for any more cookbooks, but that will not stop me buying more. Perhaps I should go on Jeremy Kyle and get help!!!!!
