I'm finding it really annoying all of a sudden that the worst series is suddenly so popular. It really doesn't deserve the mass publicity or ratings it gets now. It's just being something it isn't. Hopefully the contestants will be better than this year's, but I guess millions will start switching off because there isn't enough bitchy, backstabbing or "hot guys".

Amazing for The Apprentice - that gets it into the Top 10 Most Watched Programmes of 2008 now I believe - but we might have to wait until the overnight ratings are certified.
I agree that EastEnders was somewhat disappointing especially after it had 42% and 8 million on Tuesday. Still, it was up against football, The Bill and Location, Location, established programming in the 8.00pm slot. I think soaps are going to just have to take a knock while Euro 2008 goes on. |

Can't believe how much soap ratings are going down tbh, 7.7m for Corrie in its regular slot is bizarrely low.
I guess its share is still quite good though.

Higher than I expected for the football on BBC2, but everything else pretty much as expected.
The Apprentice is more than likely to be the number 1 show of the week unless Doctor Who gets a huge surge or Corrie on Friday can beat it, although Corrie is up against the France/Holland game which will dent its ratings somewhat. PAGE 500--wow! I'd like to thank all the regular posters for making all of the discussions about ratings really interesting: rzt GeorgeS A Cillay Agent F RobbieSykes123 Jonwo Polonius Poplar PJMillar Pizzatheaction Dancc And everyone else who has made a contribution to the thread! |

Thanks once again rzt.
I'm astonished by You're Hired getting 5 million in suh a late timeslot, especially with the disputable anti-climax and the winner being said by many to be the wrong one. |

Not good for BB
![]() Hopefully that was just a one off because of The Apprentice. In comparison to the first Wednesday of each series (I know I do this a lot but its only for the first week ) it compares as follows.BB1- 3.2m BB2- 4.4m BB3- 5.0m BB4- 3.6m BB5- 4.7m BB6- 4.8m BB7- 5.8m BB8- 4.8m (first highlights- first Wednesday was launch night) BB8- 3.0m (inc C4+1) So quite a drop from previous years but it was up against the final Apprentice: You're Fired which rated highly so that probably had an effect. Tonight its back on at 9pm and has no real competition targetted at the same demographic. Hopefully tomorrows eviction will break the 4m barrier especially as they've been advertising it quite well. |

Great figures for The Apprentice - its had a superb run. And the spin-off shows did amazing business too - 5 million is a huge audience for a 10.40pm slot. They've made it into such a big event now that can deliver much more beyond the 1 hour main show each week, with all the spin-offs and specials.
And just to add my thanks for those regular contributors (in particular those who bring us the ratings!) who make this thread such a hive of information and good debate. |

WOW - Fantastic Result for The Apprentice last Night
I wasn't expecting that huge a figure! Eastenders didn't do so good at 8pm but it wasn't in it's normal slot and had competition from The Bill and the football. It was only a million behind Coronation St which was in its normal time slot.

I woukd also like to say thank you for the ratings thread and am surprised that I'm one of the regular contributors. Here's to the next 500 pages.
![]() I wonder after the series high of The Apprentice if The Celebrity Apprentice is on the cards? They have done one-off Comic Relief editions so it is possible to do. |
