Some people are including C4+1 I think, as I think Channel 4 Media include that in their ratings.

Channel 4 Sales- 3.469 Million

So thats 3.5m to 1 dp.

Compared to previous years (the last time I do this now )

BB1- 2.8m
BB2- 3.9m
BB3- 5.2m
BB4- 4.5m
BB5- 5.1m
BB6- 4.6m
BB7- 5.2m
BB8- 4.3m (day after launch show)
BB9- 3.5m

Again it rates quite poorly in comparison to previous series but hopefully the figures will pick up very soon. Hopefully tonights eviction will break the 4m barrier.

+ all of those you're posting are officials rather than overnight, I think

They are, as are all other figures I've quoted in the past week

The BB8 overnights were similar to that of this week so its quite possible that the highlights shows could eventually make 4m with officials.

Ok ! I hope lots of them get close to 4 Million! Do officials include +1?

Officials will include both C4 and C4+1 but will also include any repeats on the channels (ie the next morning) and will include repeats on E4 and E4+1 as well as recordings (like Sky+ etc). I'm not sure of 4OD is taken into account. (If someone will clear that up.)

But the figures aren't added together because someone could watch a repeat. Instead its 'unique' viewings so to speak that are taken into account.

Its the same for any show.

Hope that helps

How do they do the ratings if you see a blue screen/continuity message instead of normal programmes like with ITV earlier?

With all the hooha encouraging people to look and see if their local service was interrupted, it might just get in ITV1s top 30!!!!

Are you sure that the officials include C4+1?

I don't think they do because I was having a look at some recent ratings on C4 Sales (which includes +1), and comparing it to their officials on Barb. And the overnights were higher than the officials! I think that's a bit harsh that Barb don't add C4+1 in the officials, because now the official averages of most shows (such as Big Brother) will be lower than it should be.

Rzt, do you still have access to all the ratings from the past month?

If so, could you possibly find the ratings for 'Emmerdale 5000': the ratings were never reported and it was on around 2 weeks ago from 6:00pm-7:00pm before the actual soap.

Many thanks, PJ.

I would check PJ, but unfortunately there's something wrong with the database. I get some error saying: " A critical error has occurred. An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)". I'll check tomorrow.

Do you subscribe to a ratings website to get your ratings?

What I am most surprised about is Who Do You Think You Are? running at this time of year. It will still win its slot I think but like New Tricks, it usually returns later in the year. Perhaps BBC ONE is going to launch new series like Bonekickers and Survivors in the autumn when audiences are bigger anyway and think that they can tempt people in for the summer with established programmes? Its actually quite a good idea because during June-August people are used to there being nothing on sometimes. Repeats, films and generally poor programming. So something getting a solid 6 million plus would be good. Hmmm we shall see...”

Dont forget that programmes that start in late september are usually in press releases as being summer programmes. IIRC WDYTYA and new tricks usually start around that the last week in september.
