What did the soaps get last night? I hope Heather and Minty's wedding did well for EastEnders.

Wow that's great for EastEnders! Almost 9 million, which it surely must have peaked at, plus 44% of the audience. I was just saying on another thread that EastEnders seemed to find it impossible to get above 43% so 44% is awesome and amazing. Its definitely better than last Thursday's, which got 8.1 million viewers. Lets hope that with Corrie behind it and in front of it EastEnders can get over 9 million tonight, after all, it is very hot in terms of storylines at the moment.

Coronation Street is a more positive soap and I will always prefer it. It is saving up some great storylines this year. I know it's been a bit dull recently.

The summer lull has officially set in as proven by the soap's ratings. EE's is good though beating Corrie's Wednesdays ep in figures and in the shares.

Heroes did really well. Higher than the season finale and its second ever highest audience. However, TBH last night's wasn't that good.

Hope everyone sticks with it, the creator/producer admitted it was slow but it will kick in eventually

Arguably the weakest Benidorm since the first series episodes and a weak Have I Got News For You too...

I dunno if this has been mentioned, but although My Family beat Benidorm when head to head during its season premiere in the overnights, Benidorm came out on top in the officials. Here are the overnights and officials:

name......overnight...official
My Family: 5.9m ---> 5.56m
Benidorm: 5.6m ---> 5.59m

But, My Family did get a lot of viewers for its repeat on the Sunday.

Interesting. Benidorm is a great series so I'm really pleased it won on the officials. Last night's episode was the best so far.

Really? I thaught Wendy Richard was dreadful why did they pick her of all people just reminded me of how wooden she actually was.

I thought it was really funny, plus if you don't like her (which I don't either), it was nice to see her wet in the pool .

I don't know, it's like all the comedy of Corrie with a little bit extra. I've always loved northern humour, stuff from Peter Kay and stuff. And Benidorm has direct links with The Royle Family, despite the setting change. I love it. Something different on a Friday night.

Really good for EE, especially when you consider the 7.58 finish and subsequent mass switch-off before Holby Blue.

Although, a fraction of the football audience EE was forced to contend with on Tuesday night.

Yes, you can blame BBC One Wales, BBC One Scotland and BBC One NI for that.

An interesting decision awaits ITV: do they give Teenage Kicks a second series based on its earlier figures and hope it doesn't go up against My Family next time around, or do they decide it should have stood up against MF equally as well as Benidorm has against HIGNFY?

Why have all the soap ratings in the past week gone on a strong decline?

Do you think I'm so slow that I needed that point to be made twice?
