The BBC are crazy for giving Doctor Who such a terrible slot. Excluding EE, DW is one of there biggest hitters. It was a superb episode last night and deserves more than a poultry 6.4m.

BGT is holding up very well. 9.4m is excellent for a fairly warm Saturday night. The series is currently averaging 9.5million viewers.

I'm not surprised PD is losing more viewers. I've watched the first 3 eps, and its just an OK programme. Nothing special about it all, compared to other US shows. 24, Prison Break and Lost spring to mind, which are far superior!

BGT is in a very strong position despite the decline, at the same stage last year it was on like 6m.

DW is wasted in that slot you're right, It clearly has the potential to get up to and over 13m. The fault lies with the schedulers. Unless of course the power of Eastenders gave it, its Christmas audience.

If the ratings stay like this for the remainder of BGT, this series could be the highest rated series of any talent show this century! It's already averaging higher than the current highest- That is Dancing on Ice 2006 which averaged 9.12m officially. This BGT series is averaging 9.5m from overnights (not even officials, which would be ever higher!).

No wonder Piers Morgan has been boasting about BGT's ratings recently:

Doctor Who should probably be getting the 7pm slot. It would have no problems against Mr and Mrs and should increase its audience. There is a risk that the rise for DW could be wiped out by a larger fall in I'd Do Anything.

Why this rivalry between The Apprentice and BGT? Slightly random.

Piers Morgan is a pratt though so I'll be favouring The Apprentice.

It's not so much a rivalry between The Apprentice and BGT as between Piers and Sugar (who seem to text each other alot for two people that hate each other). I read something about SAS saying that if BGT won at the BAFTA's it would be down to Cowell and not the monkey, Piers Morgan (or something to that effect).

Britain's Got Talent is doing very well and Mr & Mrs is a great filler show.

The great thing is, ITV is building up a successful 'All Star' series without using the annoying and outdated 'Celebrity' name.

Family Fortunes and Mr & Mrs are two successful shows.

I agree, I thought it was easily the best episode of the season so far but I didn't watch it 'live' as once again it was on too early. Hopefully once the timeslot changes the ratings will pick up.

So the theory would be that the final ratings will be even higher as even more people did as you did and elected no watch a recording at a later time (an option that is becoming increasingly more available with Sky+, PVRs and the like).

As I keep saying, the predictable slide in Dr Who's ratings is not so much down to the 6.20 slot but the fact it's the end of April, it's getting lighter and warmer and people aren't sat in watching the telly on a Saturday night. It would get more at 7pm, but probably no more than another 500k.

Next week could be worse as it's a Bank Holiday weekend.

I don't buy into the "its on too early" argument. It launched at 6.20pm with consolidated viewing figures of 9.1m.

I agree and the thing is both of them got series after appearing on Gameshow Marathon. I wonder other shows could get the All Star treatment?

With revivals of old shows I'm surprise they haven't brought back Blind Date though I think ITV1 are doing a dating show with Cat Deeley.

Love Soup is rock solid. I'm certain it does 3.7 million every week!

No, but I agree that it could be a hit especially if Cat Deeley and Nasty Nigel came over from the US version.

I think that could be quite difficult, because I think if there was a version in the Uk it would be in the summer. But those 2 have the US version in the summer, so they would clash. Still, it could be a hit without them. Incidentally, Nigel's wife judges on the Oz version.
