I'm rather optimistic. I think it will probably get just under 6m.

They would no doubt of delayed Doctor Who if it was still going on at 7.10 though.

Also, with Criminal Justice starting today for a whole week, I don't think the BBC would have wanted to start badly (due to a delayed start).”

I think if the Tennis was a bit of a thriller and that was followed by EastEnders which preceded Criminal Justice then that would really boost CJ. Hell of a lot better than a 3m inheritance from On the Fiddle.

Anyway if the Tennis on BBC2 isn't beating Panorama on BBC1 right now i'll eat my hat.

True. But would DW have really been delayed? What show would they have taken out on Saturday night, after DW? Or would the BBC have just delayed every show?

Lol. I think the tennis will probably have dented Corrie a little bit. Dunno about EE, because it looks like Andy might lose this 3rd set.

I reckon it would of otherwise you'd be taking a lot of viewers away from BBC1 and away from DW. If you leave the Tennis on than DW fans keep watching but DW also has a big inheritance and its a great start to the rest of the night. I'm sure they'd just delay everything, IMO it would improve the ratings of DW not the other way round.

Other new shows: Parents of the Band (sitcom, 6 half-hours), The Old Guys (sitcom, 6 half-hours), The Life of Riley (sitcom, 6 half-hours), Sunshine (comedy drama, 3 hours), Survivors (drama), Merlin (drama, 13 parts), Little Dorrit (drama), Tess of the D'Urbervilles (drama)

To be honest, I don't think they'll be able to fit them all in before Christmas.”

Looks like we've got loads to look forward to on BBC1 for the rest of the year.

I don't get it when people say that ITV are better at drama than BBC1. The last drama I watched on ITV was Dexter, and they didn't even make that. On BBC1 I've watched Walking The Dead, Ashes to Ashes, Lark Rise to Candleford and Doctor Who (probably more, but I can't think of the rest of them). The latter half of the year looks even better.

BBC1 have also been annocuning an awful lot of new commissions, with Bone Kickers starting next week and some of the casting for Hope Springs announced today.

I doubt they'd have delayed DW. They'd have recieved at least a thousand complaints if they'd done it.

Tennis moving to BBC1 at 8.30 after EE! Good move, should give CJ a nice hefty lead in

....may not be finished by 9.

From DS's article on ITV's poor Saturday performance:
The figure is also the second worst ever performance for ITV1, ahead of the miserable 9.1% share recorded on July 9, 2006.

What did they have on on that particular day?

9.1%- 9th July 2006.

The World Cup Final. BBC1 completely thrashed ITV1 when both showed the final by about 5 to 1.

Thanks. If Andy's on 3rd on Centre Court on Wed, I wonder how the BBC would deal wih that. Because at 8pm, the new series of Celebirty MasterChef starts. Wonder if they'll be able to delay that, and show Tennis instead?

They might because they are have delayed Criminal Justice tonight. If Murray gets to the semis he'll be on Friday and he'll be on Sunday if he gets to the final.

Murray v Nadal on Wednesday could be a big one.

How funny that people on this thread an hour or so ago were writing off Murray.

Could be some red faces before the evening is out

But today they're just delaying Criminal Justice and the shows after. On Wednesday it would be SuperChef, CJ and everything else.

But I agree with you: Murray v Nadal would be a huge match. They should show that on BBC1. Naybe put Celebrity Superchef on BBC2?

He'll either be first or second cos they have 2 quarter finals on Centre and 2 on Court 1. Third on court will be doubles. I suppose it could still be going on at 8pm if its 2 really long matches and/or it rains.

Wonder whats winning atm Wimbledon or Corrie?? Could be tight... my moneys on the tennis!

Are they all men's Quarter Finals? If so, what time would we possibly looking at for a 2nd match on Centre Court? 4pm? Then, I think it would be done by 8pm. But at least it means that possibly the whole match could be shown on BBC1.

I'm guessing Corrie's still winning atm. BUt will be very close.

4pm would be about right, somewhere between 3 and 5. They could still have the regional news problem cropping up.

Criminal Justice will now do better probably as it will have something of around 5m+ leadin, instead of about 3m.

BBC1 Caption

"Criminal Justice" will follow the tennis.

Tennis should provide a strong lead-in.

I think if Murray plays on Wednesday and is 2nd on court we'd have a situation of the news being delayed rather than moved, I'd expect the match to start around 4pm, so by 6pm will be in quite late stages. It'd definally be over way before 8pm

Lol. I was just gonna say, that people who havent predicted yet have an advantage. Both of us havent predicted yet, so I suppose we're in a similar position.

Is it possible to change a prediction on that thread?
