I don't know. Can't seem to find anything for it.

Last I heard it was averaging around 800k, some 400k behind Home and Away.

This will have a huge effect on particuarly FIVER which relies on H&A greatly and it will be interesting to see the BARB top 10 for these weeks as it is usually dominated by H&A and Neighbours.

People are also speculating on what will fill the 6pm slot and people are thinking maybe there will be a Neighbours 1 hour special, but I can't really see this happening. What do people think will fill this tough slot?”

Slight problem with having hour long Neighbours during this period is that like H&A, Neighbours takes a break during the Australian summer which would mean they have to take a longer break come Christmas.

TBH, I would say the best solution would be to either repeat US dramas from 6pm and rest the docusoaps for three weeks or have the docusoaps on for an hour.

Yeah, either of those solutions would work. FIVE then still have the 2.15pm-3.15pm slot to fill, but it will probably be a US drama.

And the first chance slot will probably be a docusoap instead.

Am I the only who thinks that the Five daytime schedule is quite awkward timing wise? Neighbours and H&A would benefit if they were on at 1.30pm and 2.00pm rather than 1.45pm and 2.15pm and then the lunchtime bulletin could restored back to half an hour and there could a US drama at 11.30am and a half hour filler at 1pm.

that would be better, or then could have it between 2:15 -3:15 / 12:45 - 1:45 so there is no clash with Doctors!

No you're not-it has messed up the afternoon schedule really having to show little filler programmes between 2:50pm and 3:15pm like I Own Britain's Best Home-Flying Visits. They used to show 2 films now, but now there's only room for one film and a small filler show, but one that is less than half an hour.

Eh up. Fantasy schedule time! How about:

06:00 Milkshake
09:00 The Wright Stuff
10:00 Trisha
11:00 House
12:00 Five News
12:30 Neighbours (REPEAT of yesterday's teatime ep)
13:00 Home and Away (REPEAT of yesterday's teatime ep)
13:30 Movie 1
15:15 Movie 2
17:00 Five News
17:30 Neighbours
18:00 Home and Away
18:30 Everybody Hates Chris

^ To me that flows a lot better than the current schedule. Having the lunchtime airings as repeats of yesterday's eps also makes more sense to me helping to boost figures for the evening eps when more viewers are available.

I know they got this idea from the BBC as they used to air Neighbours first in the early afternoon and then repeat at teatime, but this never made much sense to me either although at least because it was the BBC they were able to achieve decent viewing figures for both this way.

It's a crappy situation, for sure. The show is excellent at the moment, hopefully a few of the current storylines will be wrapped up before the break and we're not left with a big massive cliffhanger.

I read yesterday that contractually Five have to be at least 4 weeks behind Aus which seems silly to me when most of its viewers come from the UK.

Just got confirmation though that Fiver will still be airing the first look episode on Friday, 1st August, so that's good news.

I'm going into fantasy schedule mode and show what i think the Five daytime schedule should look like:

9.00 Wright Stuff
10.30 Trisha Goddard
11.30 US drama/Lifestyle Programme
12.30 News
1.00 Docusoap/US sitcom/lifestyle
1.30 Neighbours
2.00 Home & Away
2.30 Film
4.30 Lifestyle/gameshow
5.00 News
5.30 Neighbours
6.00 Home and Away.

It will probs end on an annoying cliffhanger...but a rest may be good as when it returns i will be wanting to see it more than ever! H&A is an excellent show and i don't know what i'm going to watch at 6pm for 3 weeks. Maybe those Friends repeats of E4+1().

That does seem low for BBC1's 7pm hour, but there was football on FIVE. I know it only got 0.8m, but this is 3x the slot average and what it would usually get at this time. Also interestingly Corrie got exactly the same share as it got last Wednesday, just 0.5m lower this Wednesday.

Solid ratings for The Bill and Cars, Cops & Criminals, obviously benefiting from poor competition

New commission from Fincham for ITV1:

Quote:
“ITV has commissioned a conspiracy drama by Anthony Horowitz that will feature what it claims is the largest TV crash ever filmed in the UK.

The 5 x 60-minute Collision will be made by Greenlit Rights and tells the story of a group of strangers whose lives are changed by a massive road traffic accident.

Fincham said: "This is a high-octane event drama that combines creative and original thinking with mass appeal. It promises to be both provocative and engaging."”

Full story: http://www.broadcastnow.co.uk/news/2...ma_series.html

It's 5 episodes, and Fincham sees it as "event drama" which makes me wonder whether it might be stripped across the week à la Criminal Justice. Sounds like it could be very good.

The football on Five is quite low considering Liverpool were playing but I guess it was only a friendly plus Five didn't plug it at all.

There is another Liverpool Friendly on Saturday by the cricket which could boost the all day share for Five.

They did plug it. I saw the trailer at least twice.

I expected a little more, but no doubt FIVE will be happy as Wild Animal ER/Five News/7:30pm filler would have only managed 1/3 // 1/2 of that.

Also non-friendly matches on FIVE usually manage around 2m in a later slot so those figures probably seem about right.

I agree that Saturday should perform well for FIVE with Football/Cricket/Films/US Imports and little competition against the footie.

Quite suprised that NASCAR and IndyCar are pulling in not many people.

Also DTM usually pulls in at least 10,000 ish.

The positives for ITV from 'Marco's Great British Feast' is a different type of audience, bringing viewers who don't usually watch ITV, which can be beneficial for future programming of the same kind. I think ITV picked the wrong day for this show. If they were to swap it with Monday's 'Police, Camera, Action', I could see both these 9pm shows getting around 4 million viewers, which is good for summer months.

But that would mean Marco was against New Tricks, and although I have no idea of Marco's audience split, it would still be hit further, and Police Camera Action would be against an almost identical show on BBC1.

I did think that originally with The Bill leading in nicely to PCA, but now I've changed my mind because Marco would be up against NT, although they may attract different audiences, it's probably better to have an established programme like PCA up against it.

On Wednesday PCA would be up against Cars Cops & Criminals on BBC1. Naturally these would attract the same audience splitting it in two.
