TBH, I can't see all the Olympics coverage on BBC iPlayer simply due to how much coverage they're is. I would think Olympics Breakfast and The Games Today would feature on iPlayer with the rest of the coverage on BBCi.

With The Bill getting very low figures, I think a few things need to change to better the series. It is actually very good, but needs more gripping features & a new home.

*Deduct an episode, having it permanently on Wednesday nights at 8pm (before the Champions League changing) will surely stabilize its viewing figures.
*Give the show a new home on ITV4, especially with its 25th anniversary coming up, feature some special programming:-

Woodentop (the first ever episode broadcast on a Wednesday after 'The Bill' on ITV4).
The Bill: Solved Crimes (again in a 9pm Wednesday slot)
The Bill: Untold Stories (A character profile on some of the departing officers).
The Bill Made Me Famous (On ITV2, looking at actors/actresses career on the show)
25 Years of The Bill (A three hour programme looking at everything, with contributions from cast, producers, etc).

*40 episodes a year.
*Promos for episodes frequent.
*Classic episodes repeated regularly on TheBill website and on ITV3.
*TheBill.com to receive a massive revamp and financial boost.

the low figures were down to the clash with EastEnders. It usually wins its slot and has seen off every BBC copycat effort in recent years. I don't see how pumping money into its website is relevant to its viewing figures anyway.
Personally, I think its one of ITV's best shows (not that there's a huge amount of competition there)

I do think The Bill would benefit from being on once a week and have a new prewatershed drama to replace the second weekly episode. However, I do think that it has improved compared to recent years. There is a lot of things happening to The Bill in the run up to the 25th annivesary including the crossover with SOKO Leipzig and the Bill documentary.

I can't see ITV letting it go as it performs very well for its timeslot, I remember reading that Five were interested in nabbing the rights to air The Bill but ITV signed a long contract to keep till 2010/11.

I'm really intrested in what Big Brother got yesterday! I can see it getting around 5 Million! Which would be the highest so far of the series? ( Maybe not launch night)

Great Olympic ratings for the live opening ceremony, on a Friday daytime. Massive share!

Would I Lie To You doing as usual just below the 2m mark, the second Corrie did quite badly too.

Good average and peak for Big Brother, and Five did well at 9pm and 10pm. Kevin Bishop and The Tudors seem to be falling. Not good for Superstars, just 8,000 above its series low.

BBC1's 'The Games Today' will probably pick up as the event goes on as it was just highlights of the ceremony last night.

Should make the all day shares look interesting!

That's an incredible rating for the opening ceremony considering the time is started and also how long the programme was. Corrie was really low at 8.30pm, quite surprising actually.

BBC will dominate for the next 2 weeks.

And, if that's what the Opening Ceremony got, what will the rest of the Olympics get??!!

Not too shabby a rating for Beijing though it must be said. Richard & Judy's ratings are crap and have been for quite sometime. Channel 4 should be happy that they are leaving as it's not cost effective for them.

How well did the Olympics do last night?

The figure for that Olympics Opening Ceremony is quite unbelievable - it must have had to have kept a very consistent audience across much of that time period to have 'only' peaked at 5.9 million but averaged at 5 million too.

Looks like we could have some high figures on their way over the next couple of weeks after all!

Low ratings all round last night - the only thing of note being BBC ONE's daytime audience for the Olympics Opening Ceremony. Perhaps a lot of people are now on holiday with the soaps all below 8 million - and I agree the second Corrie's audience was particularly low - but the shares all being below 40% is notable as well.

BB won the 21.00 slot. Ch 4 will be pleased with that.
