Yes - Corrie seems lower than usual but its been an odd week in terms of soap ratings. EastEnders did very well on Monday with 8.6 million viewers, beating Corrie for the first time in a while. Then it suffered up against Emmerdale (as usual) on a Tuesday, as well as The Bill on Thursday (unexpectedly) falling to 6.5 million. Yet it finishes the week ahead of Corrie again - although neither soap managed over 40% of the audience on Friday night.

Good ratings for the AGT finale on Friday, but I can't help thinking shows like American Idol and America's Got Talent would work better in a Sunday ITV2 slot.

Reading the Broadcast article about XF the demo shares are great for 16-34's and upmarket viewers and just shows how important XF is to ITV1.

I think EE is being boosted because of the Olympics with many people watching BBC1 all day. The Olympics Today are bringing in a good lead in to EE on Monday & Friday.

For the past couple of series of Big Brother they've added a new house in with 5 new housemates and because they get evicted in the subsequent weeks it feels like the series has been on forever. But this time they've not done that and for me its quite hard to grasp that the series is over a fortnight on Friday. It feels like there is still quite a while left.

Does anyone know how 4Music has been performing and how Xtra Factor performed on Saturday?

That is a very poor rating for a live Sky game involving a big 4 club.

I think it would undoubtedly have been affected by the Olympics.

EastEnders wasn't on last Tuesday! And I think the main reason it fell a bit on Thursday was because it was out of its usual slot.

I know that some people on here have contacts at itv, so can anyone tell me about the itv 2 relaunch on Wednesday, because with two days to go i've seen nothing on MG or Broadcast since it was announced. For Example does anyone here know what the new logo looks likes?

Ive known The Sun quote the peak figure for X Factor and the average for Strictly Come Dancing (or any other show)-thereby providing an unfair comparison.
Basically I think its down to trying to boost the show which traditionally is for a younger audience and to which they devote increasingly ridiculous amounts of coverage to.

Last night, Five got 2.8m (11.9%) for their film Hellboy at 9pm! Has to be their largest rating for a while. On BBC1, Pacific Abyss got 3.9m (16.5%) and Britain From Above got 4.5m (18.2%).

ITV2
20.00- The X Factor: 774,000 (3.80%) [+111,000 : ITV2+1]

Obviously the Olympics hugely beneficial to BBC1 but Id hate to think what ITV's share would have looked like without X Factor.

In fact without Simon Cowell and the two ancient soaps knitting things together the situation would be approaching desperate for ITV1.

.......and the football .......and the crime dramas ..........and the events.

So basically where ITV spends money voluntarily it delivers audience. Where it spends money because of regulatory requirement it doesnt.

There must be a message in there somewhere

Some really surprising ratings for Sunday!

First ITV1 with Heartbeat getting its largest audience for a while as it continues to inrease in the 7pm slot though its moving back to the 8pm slot next week, but it does have a Corrie lead in. ITV1's Sunday schedule is really strong atm with Midsomer repeats doing the business, Heartbeat recovering from its bad patch and there's the new Martin Clunes show starting next week which I can see getting 5m at least with the popularity of Martin Clunes, dogs and the Heartbeat lead in.

Next FIVE had an amazing evening and it was perfect scheduling for Hellboy with the new film being released. Also I'm amazed Rory & Paddy pulled in 1.2m-the same audience as the first showing! SO with 2.4m combined its another homegrown success for FIVE. Also White Chicks performed excellently from 10:15pm!

BBC1 continues to fall behind on Sunday peaktime and it has done for a fair few weeks now with stuff like SOP, LOTSW and Last Choir pulling in middling ratings for their Sunday showings and the 8-10pm stuff performing very averagly. I just can't see the appeal of Midsomer repeats which have been shown hundreds of times before, getting more than new episodes!!

ITV2 continue to perform excellently with XF repeat doing the business and with X Factor, Xtra Factor, Xtra Factor Best & Worst and AGT they should dominate the multichannel top 10 for the first time in a while.

Ironically in one of ITV's poorest performing weeks share wise it will dominate the top 10 with 6 places this week (programmes like Corrie only counted once). A lot of big hitters are performing like Heartbeat, XF, WWTBAM, Midsomer together with Emme & Corrie.

Also I've just read on Media Guardian that Moving Wallpaper series 2 will be a 6 part series and the show they will be making (a pilot) will either air on ITV1/a digital channel or the web and 2 stars have signed up replacing Martine & Jason. A lot of changes are being made to MW to make it better and attract better ratings-hopefully it'll work.
