C4 will be pleased
Big Brother kept its audience throughout, I'm sure the 2 shows next Tuesdsay will do well with hardly any competition, a double eviction and earlier times.
Great for Alan Carr too, that show was brilliant. I cans see why he has that £3million deal now

I think the first show next Tuesday may dip under 3 Million, but then again I thought this one would

Some overnights from Brand Republic. 6.5 million for Who Do You Think You Are?

Quote:
“Jerry Springer's family past brings in 6.5m viewers

BBC One's 'Who Do You Think You Are?' beat ITV1's football coverage last night , with talk show host Jerry Springer's exploration of his family's past in Nazi Germany pulling in 6.5m viewers, according to unofficial overnight figures.

Last night's episode, which saw Springer, who is Jewish, examining the records of his relatives' degradation from Berlin prosperity to a room in a ghetto to the cattle truck taking them to a death camp, attracted a 26.9% share of the 9-10pm audience.

It beat ITV's coverage of the UEFA Champions League qualifying match between Liverpool and Standard Liege, which netted 4.6m viewers and a 20.7% share of the 8-10.15pm audience.”

There seems to be confusion about the extra time in the football match. Some reports talk about ITV1's figures for 8-10pm, some refer to 8-10.10pm; 8-10.15pm. It actally finished at about 10.42pm with News At Ten starting at 10.45pm!

Take BROADCAST:

Quote:
“ITV1's live coverage of the early stages of the Champions League bubbled along nicely. The commercial network's entire coverage of Liverpool's second-leg tie against Standard Liege averaged 4.6m (20.8%) for just over two hours from 8pm.

Whilst ITV1 was showing its Champions League coverage BBC3 also got in on the European football action with Arsenal's home tie against FC Twente. The game was not in the same league as the commercial network's coverage as BBC3 averaged 440,000 (2.2%) in multichannel homes. The football match though did comfortably break the entertainment channel's slot average for the year so far of 261,000 (1.29%).”

BRAND REPUBLIC:
Quote:
“ITV's coverage of the UEFA Champions League qualifying match between Liverpool and Standard Liege, which netted 4.6m viewers and a 20.7% share of the 8-10.15pm audience.”

ITV SALES:
Quote:
“Liverpool v Standard Liege (Wed) - 4.5m (21% - 28% of Men)...”

Decent ratings all around for BBC One, ITV1 and Channel especially Channel 4 with BB and Tooth Fairy Live doing very well. BBC Two did poorly with My Zinc Bed but I guess the topic matter wasn't suitable for a mainstream audience.

Rory and Paddy is doing very well and kept its audience from last week despite stiff competiitom/

Probably not, the first one is on at 8pm when on a Tuesday there is next to no competition and the second show is on at 10pm where it normally is, and on a Tuesday gets somewhere between 3.3m and 3.5m. I think the first one will get about 4m viewers if advertised right and the second about 3.4m. Don't forget its a double eviction so I presume there will be an eviction announcement during both shows and if the show can manage 3.7m each Friday for an eviction when a lot of the target audience is out then theres no reason why Tuesday can't go any higher

Tooth Fairy did better than I expected. I expect a lot of people just left Channel 4 inbetween the Big Brother shows. Its funny though, people are saying this years Big Brother is a ratings flop when its won its slot on various occasions and pulls in a massive amount of 16-34 year olds.

Channel 4 will be particularly pleased with the first show getting the highest 16-34 ratings since Dennis was ejected. Alan Carr did well with that age group as well and gave Channel 4 a very comfortable share win in the key demo.

Channel 4 - 16.5%
ITV - 14.6%
BBC1 - 10.4%

Five - 4.6%
E4 - 4.2%
BBC2 - 3.4%

BBC1 was probably lower because they didn't have EE on.

I just checked and it got a 27% share. If you include C4+1 it got a 28% share. That's very good for BB; is that the highest of the series?

Also, did the show finish 5 mins early? Because they was a big dip in viewers between 23.30-23.35. Here's the 5 minute breakdown:
Code:
23:05	3.36m
23:10	3.60m
23:15	3.62m
23:20	3.11m
23:25	3.61m
23:30	3.60m
23:35	1.03m

Somehow I don't think The Apprentice will last long in that slot. Very poor rating considering the lead-in.

Hole in the Wall significantly down on its debut. Novelty worn off already?

Has The Apprentice US ever been shown in Australia? It would of been better showing that version rather than a UK version. I have a feeling that Seven are using The Apprentice as a test to see if an Australian version is viable.

Yes it has, although it's no longer shown on one of the main networks. The US version aired originally on Nine but has since moved to cable channel Fox8.

Anyway, Seven have now pushed The Apprentice UK back an hour starting next week, so it airs Wednesdays at 10:30 instead of 9:30.

I don't think the Gen Game is going to get any more revamps.

I had a feeling the Harry Hill story was made up, and the BBC have now confirmed it wasn't true.

I don't feel the format would be something Harry would be able to do well: the scripted bits of the show would have been fine, but I think he would have fallen short both on spontaneity, and interaction with the contestants.

I think you're right about ITV tying up HH on a long-term contract, because TV Burp is exactly the type of programme C5 could be interested in poaching.
