The TBAs in the BBC One Scheduled will probably be SCD and maybe a Weakest Link Special.”

SCD doesn't start until the 20th, unless they do a preview show, so I suppose it's possible. Maybe ITV pre-empted the possibilty of a preview show, so shifted X Factor to a later slot? Though...You've Been Framed an hour long?

Good figure for Corrie considering, and Heartbeat/Clunes did well with the relative lead ins. I don't know why ITV just don't drop the albeit well meaning experiment and mocve Friday's second episode back to Sunday TBH.

Like people have said.. Americas got talent could be on between sep-dec before because of Sharon.. but now it can

but the ratings would be lower imo... and NBC wont have ANY show for the summer!

also.. Why do ABC run 2 series of Dancing with the stars a year? people get bored faster! same with the CW's Top Model!

It is definitely a technology piece. Apparently it was one of the first productions to use the "Grass Valley Viper Filmstream" digital camera back in 2006 and now it is being aided by a "mobile colour timing suite". There is alot more on this but it does add at the end that LOTSW is half way through shooting series 31 which will air next year. Alive and kicking without doubt.
And as I said earlier-get Bobby Ball involved more-it could be a new golden age for LOTSW.

I'm thinking a six part Winter season from early December.

Yeah, that would work, as it would run through Christmas and lead up to Dancing on Ice.

I hope The Children has done good business tonight for ITV1, I only caught a bit of it but it looked pretty good. Hoping it'll appear on ITV.com tomorrow at some point so I can watch it in full...

Tomorrow, if anyone has the chance can they find out what the ratings are for Sky Sports News tonight, because they have been brilliant and on top of all the transfer deadline day news, and I've been glued to the screen.

Absolutely. I switched over to Setanta News and they haven't broken any stories and have been boring and stilted with their presentation. Sky Sports News have been superb in covering transfer deadline day...but Man City certainly helped add to that excitement.

Yes, they've been brilliant with reporters across the country. The 'Transfer Window closure' has become real 'event TV' actually and I wonder if BBC1 would benefit from running a special programme with reporters across the country running straight after the BBC News at Ten. I bet that would win its slot and bring in male viewers.

I was thinking of something like that, maybe Deadline Night Live, from the BBC Sport Studio, in a similar style to Score, using regional sports reporters outside club grounds, with cameras. I'd have it on the BBC Sport Multiscreen from 7pm with it going live on BBC One as you say after the News at 10, running till 2am the next morning.

I don't know why BBC1 never thought of it. It would be interesting to see the ratings.

Not too bad for The Children. Now I think about it, the subject matter probably put a lot of people off, rather like Fiona's Story.

If it can hold up at around 4-4.5m then it's done well.

Yeah I agree. There does seem to be a maximum audience for these types of shows, whereas 'cosy'/family dramas can reach a peak of 10 million in a good slot.

However a solid start for The Children and a good start to ITV's Autumn Season. It's nice to see an ITV drama with good ratings and good reviews for a change!

Have the reviews in the papers been good? I hope so.

I bet News at Ten did better than usual, some people here will be very pleased.

Four stars in The Metro and Teletext and The Stage were raving about it in their previews. It'll be interesting to see if it did better than New Tricks...which I watched because I'm a sucker for that show.

A lot of reviews have said excellent portrayals from actors, but material can be a little disturbing-however it is meant to be a shock drama I think for viewers.

I'm glad it got good reviews, and I agree with you that it is supposed to be shock drama and disturbing.

I was hoping The Children would hit the 5m mark tbh, but it probably will in the officials, and 20% is pretty good. Hopefully New Tricks bombed anyway, but I reckon it won't have been far behind ITV1 tbh!

The Midsomer Murders effect. Very lazy scheduling, especcially now it's Autumn.

Also, those figures for Ross Kemp and Hell's Kitchen seem lower than usual.

6m for New Tricks? Do these fans never tire of the endless repeats of this show, seriously? -_-
