The show would usually have finished at about 1928/1929 so a 4 or 5 minute over-run is pretty sloppy on the part of the producers if that is the case and SCD has never struck me as being sloppy. It might be a live show, but the timings are largely fixed (dances, links , VT's and even the judges comments are closely monitored to keep an eye on time).
Seems very convenient for BBC1 anyway!
The 5 minute breakdowns are quite interesting. Viewers for SCD and XF seem to be late in showing up, with the first 5 minutes of both shows well off the pace. XF was already building strongly before Merlin finished so it is difficult to tell just how many switched over.
SCD built across the 80 minutes. Only the first 10 minutes seemed to record any kind of major increase and then it went into a typical increase so I still think BBC1 are better with SCD in the earlier slot followed by Merlin which I think could lose quite a few viewers next week without the lead-in.
