Anyone know if ITV is planning to screen Series 2 of Pushing Daises?

I'm guessing no, but if they did IMO it would move timeslot and day.

Possibly, but they probably take a few hundred thousand off of X Factor every week with the Sunday repeats on ITV1 at lunchtime and the primetime evening repeats on ITV2 as well as a few other ITV2 repeats dotted around the schedules on Saturday nights and occasionally Friday evenings (although I'm not sure that one is done since they axed the Friday Xtra Factor show?).

The problem is that Corrie and Emmerdale can't have a regular slot, because they are irregular. Some nights they are on for an hour, some nights they aren't on at all. They could try and find room between 5pm-7pm to give them a general timeslot. But after 9pm, ITV2 have their own shows and would want the schedule to be free.

If ITV don't put News at Ten on Fridays then having Pushing Daisies in that slot could work.

I think they're showing it from January/February.

I think your right although I still think TopGear and New Tricks were scheduled far too prematurely.

If the BBC were really as ratings inclined as were led to believe it baffles me as to why these two were both scheduled in a period of such low viewing. TG working in tandom with SCD would have worked a treat for them on Sunday nights and fair enough if that did happen I'd probably say they were going after ratings but that move alone confirms my belief that the BBC really dont care as much about viewing figures. Both were enormous bankers for them who did not reach their potential in the slots they were given.


I'd say EE and Corrie are sitting pretty at the moment.

It's Emmerdale thats the cause of concern at this time of year. It usually comfortably bags the 3rd most watched position of the week but if we look back to last week we can see not only is it behind EE and Corrie but TXF, SCD, Merlin and Antiques Roadshow. A drop from 3rd to 7th whereas EE and Corrie only drop one place to accomodate TXF.

Nice bit of public service broadcasting by the BBC last night to put an old repeat up against ITV1's new drama, allowing it to find a halfway decent audience - by ITV's standards....

The competition as being the most watched programmes on TV will be very interesting this year because the traditional Corrie, Eastenders and Emmerdale, 1,2,3 isn't going to happen.

Christmas specials of Corrie and EE could possibly get 1 & 2.

EE in particular as it will be part of a strong BBC1 schedule.

Although I didn't type it properly, I meant more on a week-to-week basis, there could be quite a few shows splitting the soaps for the rest of the year.

Emmerdale hasent been in the top 10 since 2005 and even then it was only at 5th so I think we can rule them out of 3rd.

I definatly think that the top rating of the year will between now and Christmas. At this stage it looks like it could be one of EE or TXF but then theres Corrie of course and Dr Who. With an outside possibility of The Royle Family at Christmas.

There's a massive fall off from the end of Dancing With The Stars into Boston Legal. It never holds onto the majority of its lead-in audience. That's why it lost its Sunday night slot after Desperate Housewives to Grey's Anatomy. Grey's was a midseason replacement and was only supposed to be there for a few episodes, but it held onto the Grey's audience and some weeks increased on it. Boston Legal will never be a big hit.

That would also be a decent audience by BBC standards, Mutual Friends hasn't really taken off. This Autumn BBC1 could have done with Waking The Dead and New Tricks, I'm not sure where their big hits will come from.

A well-deserved 9pm victory for ITV1 with PoE. It's obvious that BBC1's tactic of New Tricks reruns is wearing a bit thin now.

It still got 5m last night, which is pretty good going for a repeat and better than their 9pm offerings any night this week apart from Wednesday.

Tonight will decide whether or not ITV beat BBC1 at 9pm this week. They won last night, they'll win Friday comfortably and BBC1 have Wednesday and Thursday in the bag. Mutual Friends is down at a bit over 3m, IIRC, so Leslie Ash doesn't need much to topple them.

It's interesting to see that ITV1 do seem to have stuck it out with all their underperforming drama's. Lost in Austen continues and Rock Rivals, Echo Beach and The Palace all saw through extended series without being moved or cancelled mid series despite some awful ratings that a repeat of some sleepy crime drama would have topped.

It's ending this season anyway.

I normally just lurk in this thread but I know there's been some curiosity about Britannia High's scheduling and I just stumbled on some info so I thought I'd post it here! It's an article from Off The Telly yesterday, reporting on a press thingy held by Paul Jackson to unveil the show.

To summarise, it's intended to be ambitiously multiplatform with a lot of spin-off content like downloadable songs etc. The first episode will be online for a week before the show airs, which will be in October. The article also refers to it as a Saturday night show twice but Paul Jackson isn't actually quoted as saying that so I'm not sure that can be taken as a confirmation of its slot (though clearly the writer came away with the impression that it'd be a big Saturday night show).

Anyway, hopefully all of this isn't old news! My apologies if everybody knew this stuff already. Aaand here's the link -
