Going back to ITV 1's infamous 9pm failures: How about they save a bit of money and REPEAT some old classics. They could use one or two nights a week and call it "Classic Hour" and re-show their original hits like 'Within These Walls', or 'Bouquet of Barbed Wire', or 'Upstairs Downstairs'.
Surely it would be better than the drivel they are putting out now? Just a thought

It doesn't look too good for Little Britain USA. The other problem for it is that HBO takes the critics seriously, its shows are expected to be potential award winners (to keep up the profile and reputation of the channel) and from what I have read, LBUSA is unlikely to be winning Emmy's any time soon.

Interesting move for BBC1 as they have moved After You've Gone back to the Friday 8:30pm slot. They obviously don't know where to slot these pre watershed comedies since Corrie has taken the slot that was perfect for them. I think they should try and put them in a Wednesday 8pm slot moving those docs to Friday 8:30pm.

By the way, Natural Born Sellers on ITV1 wasn't actually that bad, shock horror. I timeshifted it and watched after Buzzcocks and it was watchable enough. No Apprentice mind, but a half-decent excuse to sit in front of a box for an hour.

Unfortunately it was aimed at a very similar demographic to Silent Witness and couldn't compete with the 2nd of a two-parter. ITV1 needs to look into commissioning 16-34 friendly programming to fill these difficult slots. I wonder, for example, how For One Night Only would have faired in the same slot?

Lets look forward with joy to a cold, wet miserable winter and an economic depression, because we all secretly know that it will drive up tv ratings back to the glory days of the 1970's. As long as we don't get power cuts as well.

Seriously though, I would expect tv figures to go up because of the economy downturn and more people watching Freeview channels.

I think EastEnders may be hit a little tonight by the interesting edition of "Tonight" tonight (3 times using "tonight" in one sentence!) on ITV1, seeing as they are talking about an issue which will interest many people to do with kids when they are missing as such in public places etc.

These comedies would work very well against The Bill on Thursdays if you ask me.

Not excellent, but I guess its the sort of show that was always going to build through word of mouth.

No, it's a triumph if it helps persuade ITV to come up with some original programming ideas, rather than nicking other broadcasters' popular formats and ripping them off shamelessly.

Pushing Daisies at 6.32m is quite bad and I just hope it doesn't get the axe because it's probably one of my favorite shows in a long time.

As much as I love PD I'll be very surprised if it makes past the end of this season based on its performance. Hasn't it only been given a 13-episode run? I suppose we'll find out its fate if it gets an extension or not.

It's funny because only today ITV announced they were bringing it back to ITV1 next year - they might have to rethink that decision if its suddenly cancelled.

From what I have also heard, it was only given a 13 episode run. I just hope ABC airs all 13 episodes before canceling it.

It also dropped from 6.74 million to 5.93 million in the second half hour.

I've always wondered why it wasn't more popular on it's ITV2 showings, because the DVD was very popular and it seemed to be a talkabout show with a lot of people talking about it. I think a lot of people must have watched it on ITV Catch up, because IIRC it was in the ITV Top 10 at the time.

Maybe ITV2 should give it a more prominent 9pm slot when it returns?

Based on the above, it looks like the primetime schedules for Saturday look complete with TXF + SCD only clashing by 5 minutes. I'd expect TV Burp to fit into the Saturday 7pm slot.

Unfortunately, I can only see one of two possible slots for Britannia High - either Saturday teatime or Sundays at 7pm.

I'm sure HH is recording an episode this week, therefore even if it is review of the year surely all the episodes will get backlogged?

Apart from possibly Britannia High nothing else has been confirmed for the Sunday 7pm slot, so if BH does go on Saturday I can't really see what will go in that slot.

Only a 15 minute clash with Strictly for X Factor, Harry Hill keeps a prominent slot and Family Fortunes can continue its run on Saturdays. Most importantly, Britannia High is given the slot it NEEDS to succeed, in between the X Factor showings.

If BBC1 were showing anything other than SCD in the 8pm slot I would agree that TOF should be moved forward, but I think TOF is ok where it is actually. IMO the only change I would make is move YBF and HH to the 7pm Sunday slot-a completely different audience to AR.

The rest of it is great though.
