19.35- Merlin
20.20- National Lottery
21.10- Casualty
22.00- BBC News
22.30- Match of the Day

ITV1
15.30- F1: Chinese Grand Prix Qualifying

Just a 5 minute clash between SCD & XF. XF Results are quite late but should still do very well with a good share.

My god, look at the drop in ratings for the soaps! Especially Emmerdale and EastEnders. The Bill got much bigger ratings as well.

Merlin and Harry Hill will be destroyed in the ratings.

Sunshine did poorly on BBC One but I guess the subject matter wasn't appealing enough for a mainstream audience, ITV1 did okay with Cops with Cameras while British Style Genius turned out be a bit of a flop for BBC Two.

It's battle of the travel shows tonight with Greatest Cities of the World vs Paul Merton in India and it will be interesting how each one rates. I have a feeling that The Family is going to be hit with so much competition tonight.

I hope Greatest Cities does well as it's the sort of show that could become a regular series featuring other cities of the world. There is another Paul Merton series set in Germany for 2009 which has already been commissioned.

Do ITV schedulers really have no imagination at all? That is way to late for the XF results imo, and I hope this isn't permanent although I can see it being the case. Just shift them to Sunday. I can't see them performing very well post 10pm, although maybe ITV want this to prove Cowell wrong that they would be better on a Sunday.

Yeah the ratings were as expected for me last night. The subject matter in Sunshine wasn't appealing enough, I agree.

No surprise that the Style Genius show flopped-more suited to BBC3 imo.

Surprised that Cops With Cameras didn't benefit from weak competition though.

Some low Tuesday shares for BBC1, with no Holby, soap clash and yet another poor drama rating in the 9pm slot.

It's annoying as I want to watch both travelogues on ITV1 and FIVE, but will probably watch the repeat of Paul Merton, however I think the audiences will be split and both will be dented. I really hope Greatest Cities does well and hopefully ITV will sign Gryff to do more shows as he is perfect for ITV1 imo, better than Marco Pierre White.

I'm torn between the two shows but I think I will watch Paul Merton on Demand Five as ITV's catch up service is quite poor in comparison plus it repeated a lot of Fiver.

The Anger documentary that Griff did on BBC Two did quite poorly but I think this one will do a lot better.

Interesting that while BBC One, ITV1 and BBC Two did poorly, Channel 4 and Five did really well with both their shows at 9pm increasing their audiences from last week.

The ITV Press Centre says this about Harry Hill :

"Viewers can look forward to the big-collared comedian returning for a bumper run of 25 episodes, including a review of 2008 over the Christmas holiday period and – for the first time – four extra shows in the New Year bring together the best all time TV Burp moments. As always, Harry will dish out a weekly helping of clever quips and side-splitting sketches, served up with only the funniest clips, extra large laughs and a side order of silly that will have even the fussy Freaky Eaters queuing for seconds."

Wow. Those BAFTAs seem to have given ITV a renewed confidence in the show. Wonderful stuff.

Being a bit pedantic but wouldn't 26 episodes be better (half a year)?

ABC did well with the Presidential debate though Dancing with the Stars did quite poorly against NCIS while Biggest Loser was up too. Priveleged also went up too so it was a wise descision by The CW to show original programming against the Debate.

XF has had a mixed history in late slots. One in series 2 was one of the highest rated shows ever, but another last year did really badly (although the main show had done badly as well). It's also worth noting that the gap between the two XF shows (both on Saturday) was less than the gap between the two SCD shows (split over 2 nights).

Cowell may well think that the results will rate lower on a Saturday night, but until ITV show him some benefits (£££££) for the move, I doubt he'll budge. As it stands, ITV would be the only ones to gain anything out of it by propping up other shows.

As the series progresses, it will get earlier and earlier as well.

I'm not really sure what more they can do. Something needs to go against SCD, ideally not XF. And for BBC1, Merlin provides a perfect alternative to XF and takes a big SCD lead-in, having already shown it can attract a decent audience.

Seven had a great night with every show at breaking the 1m mark and Packed to the Rafters nearly getting 2m. Nine had an awful night and it seems viewers are getting bored of Two and a Half Men with the two repeats failing to hit 1m in primetime. Ten did okay with NCIS and Rush though I think Rush would get better ratings if was in an earlier slot.

Ratings seem quite high, was it bad weather or something?

I'm so pleased Harry will be running for the next half a year. It's great news and it seems ITV have finally got faith in him now after winning the BAFTA's and they realise they can't lose him now. Also the compilation shows sound excellent!

Read on Broadcast that Michael Grade want Ofcom to scrap or reduce the indie quota that they have which is 25%. Considering that two of the biggest shows on ITV1 Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor are made by two independent production companies (TalkbackTHAMES and Syco) I find that a bit odd as some of the best shows in the last few years have been made by independent producers plus ITV own or have a stake in various companies.

Not sure. They do seem a little higher than normal. But as usual Seven dominates - 1.5m for a repeat of Animal Rescue is huge with Wipeout and new Simpsons not even hitting 1m.

I think that BBC One schedule might change slighly, cos two of the shows in the RT listing are the wrong length.
