I sat through the entire BAFTA's show..when it come to the end..I thought to myself..why did I do that....lol

Oh you better believe it...by 9.57pm last night I'd started to dribble and mumble incoherently...Oh I'm sill doing it now..

And the BAFTA's peaked at 6.2 million. Surprisingly strong and not what I thought the show would get with a bunch of shows that most people hadn't seen.

Well i assume that paying the likes of Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan, Ant & Dec, hiring venues etc etc all add up. But i would still say its reasonably cheap to produce but defo not as cheap as Corrie or Emmerdale surely.

Very surprised the BAFTA's done so well especially in this day and age. Did not watch it myself but was glad to hear on the news that Harry Hill scooped 2 awards.

Headcases appallingly bad and deserved - it was crap - bad writing.

Great ratings for Foyle's War.

Beat The Star rated very healthily and went up as the show progressed. I can see a lot more viewers tuning in next week! Around 6 million by any luck. Headcases needs to be put on Friday at 9:30pm against My Family, swapping with Teenage Kicks.

Apparently News at Ten might be airing on Sunday at 10pm after the new incentive from ITV to air its two hour dramas from 8pm. Apparently, dramas like The Royal and Heartbeat will be broadcast at 7pm in future.

Personally, News at Ten would be a breath of fresh air and would get good figures for ITV1 as it will attract an 'older audience' unlike the majority of programming from Monday to Thursday.

Really? Where did you hear that? If true it would work much better and no doubt get a better inheritance as ITV1 usually wins the 9pm slot comfortably.

Good start for Beat The Star, as it built it audience substantially as it was on air. Though with the soaps gone the 7pm slot is more evenly spread out with Bremner, Bird and Fortune considerably up on ther last series and the FIVE film repeats performing excellently for them.

BBC1 and ITV's daytime must be performing awfully on Sunday as both their peaktimes were healthy, but both are pulling in their worst shares of the week.

Why did the news at 10pm bring in 6.6 million??

I got a reply from ITV (Simon Shaps) after I emailed him about the purpose of News at Ten . He said that ITV would look into the possibilities of News at Ten on different nights, apparently on a trial basis. Nothing official.

Good grief! ITV could easily make it Sunday to Friday now, going like this on Sunday:

10.00 News at Ten

and this on Friday:

8.30 Corrie

9.30 Teenage Kicks
10.00 News at Ten
10.35 Film

That would really emphasise the brand and make it more appealing to viewers.

Not unless they still have tv with valves that need to warm up for half an hour before the picture appears

Trouble is News at Ten just isn't that good. Too many "Daily Mail" type stories.

People will always pick the BBC for their news as has been proven since News at Ten returned.

The Mail outsells the Guardian. So if your analysis was right, ITV would beat the BBC by 2-1

True, but when it comes to evening news why is the BBC News getting three times as many viewers as News at Ten?

Force of habit, and ITV's brand image is tarred.

Nothing to do with the quality of the bulletin, which is actually very high.

And Pizza there is a Sunday episode on the 4th, an it only temporary.

Why is there a Sunday episode on the 4th as the 8:30pm slot on Friday is being replaced by a repeat of Corrie Family Album?
