Really great weekend for BBC1. By the way has any got a Deadliest Catch rating for Channel 4 on Friday at 9 yet?

I'm surprised that BGMT on Sundays pulled in quite a high ratings, I thought it went out on Saturdays after BGT?”

Not straight after. It goes out at about 10pm because ITV wants good figures for Pushing Daisies, which is a pain in itself.

ITV really needs to sort its Sunday line-up out. Beat the Star is a good gameshow, perhaps the wrong presenter, would have prefered Dermot O'Leary. It could be repeated on Saturday mornings at 11am and I bet it would do well.

ITV needs to re-think its weekend schedule looking at the disastrously low all day shares.

Some classic shows like Gladiators and other gameshows could shoot up ITV's daytime share.

Well its tied into the launch of the new Indy film isn't it so that would drum up a bit of interest. It got 8m a couple of years ago when shown on Thursday at 8pm, so last night isnt that surprising.

I think The Apprentice will do very well next Tuesday but not tomorrow against the Champions League final. I think they should have moved tomorrow's edition.

Terrible ratings for Five - never reached 1 million!!

Clearly Indiana Jones-fever is building ahead of the new film! Its done really well for BBC One over the past three weeks - a canny way to fill up a few sunday nights really. Been a good weekend for BBC - the FA Cup held a higher peak than we might have anticipated and Doctor Who is back hitting the big numbers - hopefully it'll stay at 7 now.

It seems like Heartbeat struggles when its isolated in the ITV schedule. Its the kind of show that will always perform well if its got a soap or Dancing on Ice leading into it, but won't particularly pull in the viewers by itself.

Funny about Heartbeat as the opposite used to be true. When it debuted it was on Fridays at 9.00pm and it did so well there that ITV bosses moved it to Sundays where it became huge.

I remember when Heartbeat used to air 20 weeks on the trot pratically, at 8pm all the while. Switching it to half 7 to accomodate something like Dancing at Ice wouldn't harm it too much, but they shouldn't keep altering the schedule, becauseit will harm ratings. I think though, BBCs lazy scheduling (eg. just sticking a film on, instead of new programming) would have paid off yesterday whatever, because of the new IJ film coming up.

I agree with PJ Millar, Beat the Star would do better on a Saturday, and I think O'Leary would be a better presenter than Vernon Kay for it. The only thing I'd do to PJ Millar's schedule is have Beat the Star at 6, simply so only half hour of the show would clash with Doctor Who. They appeal much more to the same audience than DW/Mr. and Mrs. does.

Looks like ITV are gonna kill off another one of their top rated shows at this rate. These breaks are no good and the audience now doesn't know when the show is on! I don't watch this show and never have done, but seriously what are ITV playing at here.

Indiana Jones did very very well.

It seems as though viewers like movies on Sunday nights and might be the incentive for the future. Seeing Flood and Indiana Jones got exactly the same viewers.

Watch this space.

Am i right in thinking that the Tonight figure is inflated due to Corrie being shown in Scotland? Why have Media Guardian focused their Friday report around this-do they not do their research?

FIVE must be pleased about NCIS finale performing well. It's been performing great for them this season usually coming third in its slot, and sometimes 2nd! The repeats always seem to perform for FIVE aswell. Does anyone known why NCIS is one of the only FIVE American Imports not to be shown on FIVE US?? Is it because of the rights and how many times they can show episodes-I don't really understand because it's repeated reguarly on FIVE.

No, I hardly think so. The Coronation Street figures are deducted.

Probably five dont own the non-terrestial rights to the show?

FX currently own the multichannel and first run rights and Five have terrestrial rights though it wouldn't surprise if Five nab exclusive rights at the LA Screenings as NCIS would perform well on Five US and free up Saturdays for other shows.

Kind of surprised that Five has never thought of putting Numb3rs on the main channel as it performs reasonably well for Five US and would make a good companion show for NCIS.

I've always wondered about that aswell...that must be something to do with rights aswell surely? Do ITV3 own the first chance rights and terrestrial ones to that?
