Thank god I haven't predicted in the ratings game yet I suspect that today's BGT ratings will dip slighty due to The Apprentice but if it can keep this up then I could see 11-12m tuning in on Saturday.

I have a feeling that the Bank Holiday and poor competition had a part to play as well.

10.9m?! ****ing hell! I can imagine these figures will rise throughout the week, and anything less than 5m for News at Ten will be a shock tbh!

Brilliant figure for Britain's Got Talent. It's current series average is 9.0m (39%), setting it up to be the most watched series of any talent show since 2000. Springwatch also did really well, 0.3m up on last year's first episode.

There were many more people watching tv last night than usual, probably because it was a Bank Holiday. From 21.00-22.00, there were 25.7m people watching tv; usually it would be around 22m. The Late News beat BBC News, obviously due to the brilliant lead-in. ITV will be chuffed- they co,pletely dominated primetime.

The Late News beats BBC News, it will be interesting to see how News at Ten does tomorrow.

The final should easily beat Dancing On Ice's 11.7 Million.

It may even beat it in one of the semis.

Although last night some people probably watched it just to see what it was like, I know I did. I liked it but I will be watching the Apprentice tonight .

Still I think over 9 Million tonight.

Hooray, very glad to see Springwatch doing well - and it'll be interesting to see how it holds up tonight.

BGT did really very well in deed - although both BBC2 and five had reasonable figures at the same time, so it would seem that as long as the right programmes are schedules against BGT, terrestrial TV can still pick up lots of viewers.

I think BGT's viewers will dip slightly tonight due to the Apprentice being on, but for the rest of the week I think it will be comfortably over the ten million mark. The England game should do reasonably well, but they're aimed at different audiences really so I can't see it denting the audience of BGT.

Massive ratings for Britains Got Talent - going to be a bumper week for ITV, thats for sure. Even taking into account the extra viewers on bank holiday yesterday, its difficult to see it scoring anything less than 10 million every night this week now! I honestly wasn't expecting much beyond about 9 million maximum last night.

Fantastic lead in to the News at Ten - its a hell of a big week for them. The BBC will just have to grit its teeth and take the hits this week, I think.

Good figures for BBC Two with Springwatch - its not often they hit 4 million. I had no idea it was so popular.

Itv has just been saved by BGT.
Good ratings for the soaps as well.
My sister is still one of those 200-300,000 who watch Friends each night.

Britains got talent done well mainly because of the rubbish that was on BBC1 - if only Waking the Dead was still on.

Great ratings across the board last night-I think more people were watching because it was Bank Holiday & because BGT was on so people didn't go out, plus it was awful weather.

Starting the night off both Five News & Emmerdale were up-Emmerdale though had a good lead in from the Emmerdale 5000 show, because it's strange that Emmerdale was about a million up on last Monday and Corrie is equal/down as is EE.

Amazingly even though BGT completely dominated every channel got a look in and i didn't expect BBC2 and CH4 to top 2 million either and even FIVE pt in a respectable performance, the only real channel which was down was BBC1.

I'm still shocked at the ratings for BGT and The Late News-ITV will be pleased with this week!

Any news on Britain's Got More Talent?

TBH I thought ratings aside from BGT would be down as it was a Bank Holiday but the weather was awful unlike the first May Bank Holiday where it was sunny and Iron Man had been released which would had taken away viewers.

Warship fared quite well and I suspect ratings will increase next week.

I've noticed a new genre of television that has taken off on American cable television that is unofficically called Jungereality which are documentary series which shows men doing dangerous jobs like crab fishing (Deadliest Catch), logging (Ax Men) and ice trucking (Ice Road Truckers) and now NBC has brought Jungereality shows to its schedule with America's Toughest Job, Shark Taggers, Swords and Salvage. If this genre is successful on NBC, I wonder how long it will be be before BBC One and ITV1 commissions these type of shows as Ice Road Truckers on Five and to a lesser extent Deadliest Catch on Channel 4 have had good ratings.

No, BGT just does well because people like it. It holds up well on a Saturday when there is other stuff on BBC1 that also rates highly. I think it will dip tonight because of The Apprentice and I think The Apprentice will dip too- being on a Tuesday and not advertised much doesn't help. But I think with repeats of both shows the figures will end up similar to that how they would if they had no competition.

Great ratings for ITV News. I find it ironic how their late news in the generic style always rates higher than their News at Ten they clearly put effort in with It would also be interesting to see how many of those 5.2m were from the North West- the particular newsreader on last night was our ITV local one, and she is quite popular up here so a lot of people (up here anyway) might have watched purely on that merit although I'm not saying this is true.

I think NAT could finally lift off tonight and get 3-3.5 million.

I reckon NaT will get around the 4.5m mark tonight tbh, probably still trailing the BBC though. All the same, if it gets big audiences this week, let's hope it can keep them in the coming weeks!

NaT will get much lower than last night, because it has a lower lead in, BBC1 has a much stronger lead in and the programme goes on for longer. Usually during NaT the bulletin sheds viewers the whole way through, whereas last nights bulletin was only 15 minutes long.
