I'm just wondering if this is a stategy because of the fact that they dont have much ad time to sell in the 10pm hour?

That's particularly impressive for Midsomer Murders, considering it wouldn't have finished until midnight.

Kids TV rates really badly on BBC1 and just brings the whole 24 hour share for BBC1 down. Why don't they move it to BBC2?

and everyone must have seen it at least 10 times already on either daytime ITV1 or on ITV3.

I'm amazed at how some programmes can be repeated endlessly and still get good ratings.

Because it would bring BBC2 down if they did that?

But the decreasing effect on BBC2 wouldn't be as much as BBC1, because BBC2 gets about a 10% share, doesn't it?

And BBC1 should get priority.

ITV would be 5%+ behind BBC1 if BBC1 moved Kids TV to BBC2.

I think it is a bit unfair on BBC Two which has already suffered sharewise because of BBC One nicked The Weakest Link to have children's programming while its successful lineup of daytime shows get switched to BBC One. Just because it's not the main channel doesn't mean it should get sidelined.

Anything for ITV Saturday & Sunday mornings & afternoons? Sorry this is a big ask, but a lot of people, especially on the 'Ratings Thread', wants to know why the all-day share is dragged down. The CITV ratings must be shocking. But how shocking?

Mon 9th June:
21.00- One Tree Hill: 170,000 (1%)

Dunno what time and day Nip/Tuck is at. The other ratings are too long.

Tell me the starting and ending times, and I'll find the average figure and share for that time period.

I think a massive thanks should go to rzt

Since I've been here and participated in this thread (unsure about how long before) rzt has never failed to post viewing figures and more analysis type things such as breakdowns. And all this now too ...

So yeah, thanks rzt

Thank for that, these wildlife shows seems to do quite well for Five in quite a difficult slot and I'm not surprised to hear that they have commissioned more shows of this kind.

How did BBLB perform on Sunday? (1.40pm-2.40pm, Channel 4). It will be interesting to see the difference between that and the E4 show which has been getting around 0.3m.

It would make sense to do that ratingswise for BBC1, however the Beeb has to deal with more than just what would seem attractive for its share. I think there would be an outcry that the BBC was continuing to "sell its soul" in the "undignified" pursuit of numbers.
That said, I think one day not too far into the future it will happen. Though there will have to be some ground preparation prior.
