It was only done in a bit of 'fun' - we all know it was based on a 'scenario' and not 'what actually happened'.
It just goes to show what can be done with a bunch of statistics, and some manipulation.
Also, you could have checked the fgures rather than just calling them 'wrong'
Maths isn't my strong point otherwise I might have done.

No my 'go at' rizstar during the week was because he was trying to pass off his calculations as 'official'.
At least I'm not doing that.....
And I'm willing to bet that the only reason you and others didn't jump in the thread were because EE came out on top.
Well 'rizstar' did make it clear that the word official meant that he was using official ratings that BARB had calculated in his sums. And I don't think much manipulation needs to go on, if you do add up all the ratings then of course EE is going to come out on top because it's omnibus and BBC3 repeats rate far higher than the Corrie equivalents. However the sums were done and whether or not they did reach the correct average figure, the actual figures for the repeats and the EE overnight ratings and the Corrie repeat ratings and overnights don't need much manipulation to see that when added together EE comes out on top. This is not a method I personally look at however but I know it's something the BBC take into consideration.

The reason I did not jump into the thread was because I was not in a position at the time to post so that's why you were spared my input into the discussion which I'm sure you're gutted about.

So??
It's shares have risen therefore it is doing better.

I think you are getting confused.
Just because EE is doing better - doesn't automagically mean that Corrie is doing worse.
Well the gap between the two is not as big as it used to be and EEs ratings haven't changed that much although there has been an increase in its share from the 38-40% it seemed to be stuck at earlier on in the year. The main reason they've caught up though is because Corrie has dropped in viewer numbers whereas EE hasn't really because if it had then it wouldn't be close to Corrie if it had also dropped as much in viewer numbers.

Lets just say EE has increased its share and caught up with Corrie in terms of that measurement and Corrie has come down in viewer numbers to be nearer to EE's level so that's why they're closer in terms of that measurement. Nobody is saying Corrie is doing badly however or even that it's position in the ratings is being threatened by EE. They are closer than they have been for years at the moment but I don't think they're going to swap positions and look at that 48% share, I can't remember the last time EE had a 48% share. I'm sure it had a 46% recently and may have had a 47% as well but don't quote me on that, I can clearly remember the 46% but the 47% is something I think I can remember but I'm not sure of. Either way though it's good but it's still not 48%.

Well I think EE improving so much has played a big part in it, yes.

It's got some good stuff coming up which I'm really looking forward to.

It did surprise me that you hadn't used an account to comment.
But as for being 'spared' your input, don't flatter yourself

I think we can agree on that...
Don't know why the 7:30 spot has decreased in viewer numbers, maybe people are staying out later in the summer.
It's usually one of the 'sweet spots' of the evening.

Not sure whether 'fact' is the correct term sb, maybe opinion.
EE has been on the increase of late, but they have done so many times in the past only to start decreasing again.
Maybe this time they can keep up the momentum.

Well you're not really the best one to give a response to that as you don't know what the current quality of the show is like.

Most people have had better weather recently so that will have had something to do with it.

I say most people because the weather hasn't brightened up here bar a spot of sunshine for a couple of hours last Thursday afternoon, apart from that it's been freezing.

To be expected as it was a very good day yesterday. . . And people don't seem to watch the soaps on a Sunday.

Good numbers, and shares, if a little surprisingly high for Corrie first ep.
