I'm not a EE fanatic and think it's ok at the moment. It can't be brilliant all the time.

The baby storyline is a major storyline.
I think people raise a good point of being sick of Sean in every episode. Everyone in my office hates him and cannot stand his smug grins. |

Theres no other logical explaination as why 8 to 11m+ (in winter months) watch Mon, Thurs and Fri (when EE and EM dont clash) whilst Tuesday is always >7m. What is their bingo on Tuesday night or what. The show is as good as it has been at any point this year IMO. Its just there hasent been a WOW! episode like the Pub raid, Christmas or Frank's Funeral but I believe there are a few ahead with explosions and everything. |

I dont think the fall in EastEnders ratings over the last couple of weeks has got anything to do with itself as some are saying on here but 100% because of ITV and Emmerdale, here are the ratings for EastEnders for the last 10 episodes:
8.5m 6.1m 6.9m 7.8m 8.9m 6.2m 6.0m 7.4m 8.8m 6.3m Of these last 10 episodes, 5 have clashed with Emmerdale (the ones in bold), this is a record. Never before have so many episodes of Emmerdale have clashed with EastEnders in such a short space of time and it is this which is hitting EastEnders. Average for these 10 episode is just 7.3 million, about a 1 million down compare to the same 10 last year. |

Official Ratings for week ending 18/05/08
Here are the official averages for that week:
--> Terrestrial: EE- 7.6m , Corrie- 8.7m , Emmerdale- 6.1m --> Multichannel: EE- 1.0m , Corrie=<0.35m Noteable Ratings: Wednesday night’s Coronation Street was the least watched episode of the soap this century with 6.44m viewers. The previous worst was 6.87m on Friday 7th September 2007. Thursday night’s 19.30 edition of Emmerdale was the least watched episode of the soap in nearly two years with just 4.78m viewers tuning in. The official average of 2008 so far for these soaps are: EE- 9.14m , Corrie- 10.48m (difference of 14.66% between EE and Corrie) Emmerdale- 7.58m (17.1% behind EastEnders, 27.7% behind Corrie) The official average at this stage in 2007 was: EE- 9.0m , Corrie- 10.70m (difference of 18.87% between EE and Corrie) Emmerdale- 8.02m (10.9% behind EastEnders, 25.1% behind Corrie) EE's audience has increased by 140,000 (+1.5%). EE has closed the gap on Corrie and stretched its lead over Emmerdale. Corrie's audience has dropped by 220,000 (-2.1%). So, not too big a drop, and Corrie's average is still good. Corrie has reduced its lead over EastEnders, but extended its lead over Emmerdale. Emmerdale's audience has dropped by 440,000 (-5.5%). That's a pretty big drop compared to all the other soaps. Emmerdale has lost ground on both EastEnders and Coronation Street. |

Nice to see EE ahead of ED no matter how small the amount.
It's also good to see that BARB have reported thursday TWO episodes of ED seperate, i wonder if Keith Richardson is laughing now EMMERDALE (THU 1930) 4.78 EASTENDERS (THU 1930) 7.17 |

That old chestnut again eh! I think these excuses for EE viewing figures has got to stop. Corrie is number one like it or not. There is no proof of these claims that Corrie has an older audience and that EE only does poorly because its young viewers have gone out etc etc. The repeats don't count towards ratings, and how can they when you consider the different repeat options that available for all soaps! The only rating that is important is the first viewing figure, that is all the BBC and ITV are interested in.
also reapts are important and when everything goes digital reapts will be included in the first showing therefore Eastenders will come out on top as its got a much bigger digital audiance then corrie |

by your method, on bbc1 if you added both showings, it would have got 4/5m.
Some of the storylines are good, but they really are throwing every depressing storyline at once atm. Where's the humour that we know it does so well. There's nothing atm which makes neighbours stand out from any other soap. It's lost its identity (and viewers) |
