I think it was more a case of him being worried about how she would react to him after the way she left.

He did seem to be preoccupied in trying to get information about what the public perception of him was. That is probably why they only had Chanelle in for 5 minutes, because BB knew from past experience that Ziggy is pretty relentless in getting info. about the outside world from newcommers/returnees.
