I'm sure that every person who elects to participate in any forum has there own particular motivation apart from a shared interest in the topic of the forum. In my own case there was what I believed was a shared appreciation of Chanelle, although I have come to doubt this is a common interest of some who regularly post here. I also used to post on the Ziggy and Chanelle post because I also appreciate Chiggy as a part of Chanelle.
Sadly, some time ago I ceased even reading the Ziggy & Chan thread as so much seemed to be little short of open war with so many contributors apparently anxious to attribute past negative events to perceived shortcomings of one or other of them. From time to time this thread also suffers from hit and run raids that seek to denegrate rather than appreciate Chanelle, apparently for no other reason than to spoil the enjoyment of those who genuinely appreciate her.
Unfortunately, what you describe as gentle humerous digs typically amounts to labeling others as 'prudes' and 'middlebrow snobs' to deny validity to their views and then condemn they as 'precious/touchy' when they protest. Doubtless, you would enjoy some perverse satisfaction if those you offend in such manner entered into pointless verbal jousting with you but I did not join the forum to engage in exchanges of offence with other members.
With the biblical span of three score years and ten fast drawing near together with impaired health limiting exertion I joined the forum as an opportunity to enjoy exchanging views with like minded people. Being unwilling to engage in verbal jousting with individuals intent on causing offence has nothing to do with being 'precious' or 'touchy' and everything to do with my belief that it is not the purpose of this thread. Also, it is not the reason I joined the forum.
However, although you apparently gain satisfaction from driving people away from the thread I do not intend to allow you to totally drive me away, although you have hugely spoilt my enjoyment so that I visit much less frequently now.
In contrast I have been, and remain appreciative of the friendliness shown by of most other members.”
Even though this has little to do with me it's got to be said that if people can be offended by what someone writes on here they must have precious little problems in their life, I would never consider to stop posting somewhere just because I didn't like what someone has wrote.
That's not taking anyone's side but people have got to get a little less precious it's only a BB forum and people aren't going to agree on everything.
Why would you care what someone you don't really know thinks about you or what you write.
I'll stop there.
That's not to say people don't wind me up sometimes as I'm sure I wind up others but such is life we are all adults (Well most of us)
