Some of Big Brother’s most notorious housemates from the past eight series are to come together for the first time ever in a unique reunion event with a charitable twist.
The ‘All Years Party’ – produced in association with Digital Spy (
www.digitalspy.co.uk), the UK’s premier entertainment and media news website – aims to reunite more than one hundred housemates for at the private bash, to be held later this month.
The night, being hosted at the Chapel Bar in Islington, will also feature an awards ceremony. Digital Spy readers will vote in categories such as “Sexiest male” and the “All Years Villain”, with the winners revealed on the night. With sponsorship coming from The Chapel Bar, Digital Spy, MySpace, Diageo, Cusqueña, Smirnoff, LaFee Absinthe, Ty Nant Spring Water and HispaMerchants among others, the aim is to provide an evening of complementary food and drink where as many high profile personalities as possible will take part in a huge money-raising charity event.
Guests will be entertained on the night by “It’s a Swing Thing” featuring Chris Beard and Ita Egan. Big Brother 7 winner Pete, Big Brother 8’s Shabnam and reality TV favourites The Cheeky Girls will all perform at the event, with DJ sets coming from Mikey Dalton (BB7) and Brad 212 Finlay, a big name on London’s underground dance scene with regular appearances at Egg, 54, Ministry and more.
The party also aims to raise awareness of a charity auction (see
www.myspace.com/bigbrotherallyearsparty for details and bidding). Users will be able to bid for tickets to the party, or for a dinner date with more than fifteen of their favourite housemates from recent years, in a reverse style auction where the lowest unique bid wins, including Nikki (BB7), Pete (BB7), Liam (BB8), Brian (BB8), Alison (BB3), Samanda (BB8), Glyn (BB7), Charley (BB8) and Ziggy (BB8). Bids cost £1.50 and the proceeds will be donated to the charities below:
RNLI
Kidney Research
Terence Higgins Trust
Deaf Parenting UK
Multiple Sclerosis Society
Says Mark Garrett, party organiser: “This started off as a low-key party to celebrate Eugene’s (Big Brother 6) birthday but as he invited more of his former Big Brother housemates we thought ‘why not invite everyone?’ The response has been phenomenal and we are all thrilled to be using the event to help raise money for some great charities.”
Adds Neil Wilkes, Editor, Digital Spy: “It’s an ambitious task - and in some cases a frightening prospect – to bring together so many housemates in one place, but Digital Spy is proud to be associated with an event that not only salutes those who have provided us with so many moments of telly gold, but also raises a load of dosh for charity.”
