Good Morning fellow Dirkettes!!!
Happy Valentines day. *wishes Dirk a lovely valentine day*

Looks like Mr M and dirkfanleeds were busy with each other last night.

What has everyone got planned for Valentines day? My boyfriend is taking me out for dinner at a restaurant in Covent Garden called 'Rock Garden' tonight...it is supposed to be a very 'trendy' restaurant so he says. But i won't be able to stay out till very late because i have a lecture at 9 am tomorrow morning.
But to be honest i am not a massive fan of valentines day, it is so commercialised and its an exuse for shops & brands to make extra cash. Last year me and my b/f didn't do anything for Valentines day, we just didn't bother but this year it looks like he is making a big effort... Bless him lol.

Morning all

You are a smooth operator Mr. McMahon I'm glad to hear that you didn't spend the whole night together on your first date DirkfanLeeds will have to be wooed some more before she gives in I like your style and enjoyed reading your banter

I just watched BG and have to say Starbuck looked very fetching in his dungarees and flat cap. Loved the last bit when he kissed all three Brit Eklands goodbye

No special plans for today. I got a lovely card from hubby but he has work tonight, not that we can get up to much with my bad back at the moment!

I agree with you Hera that Valentines Day is too commercialised and it just gives shops and florists the opportunity to rip people off. Have a great time tonight and enjoy your meal. I've been to Covent Garden but not the restaurant you mention.

I wonder if, hypothetically, people who first met on this forum were ever to get married, i wonder if Dirk would attend the wedding! I bet he would, given the right invitation strategy!

Me too DenJ - nobody could ever accuse any of us of standing in the way of true love, eh?

Was todays BSG a good 'un then? I've sky+'d it so i can watch it later on and have some quality swoon time.

Well if it gets me an invite to a wedding and I get to meet Dirk there as well, i'm all for it. We need lots of poetry and the like, and links to romantic music. There was one on the radio this morning but it wouldn't be appropriate here because it went like this:

Roses are red
Viagara is blue
It's on sale at Boots
So I got some for you

However someone must know better and more appropriate poems?

Their love started out as a giggle and smirk
Joint together forever in a forum for Dirk
They flirted all evening just like Face in the Team
Just two kindred spirits if you know what i mean
The other Dirklings looked on in surprise
And plotted to buy lots of confetti and rice
Nothings more fun than a Digital Spy wedding
Except Dirk's Mrs Jones dance and all that clothing he was shedding
The happy Dirkettes shopped for a hat and an outfit to wear
In the hope that a Mr Benedict would possibly be there
Cos Mr M and Dirkfan would make such a lovely match
And hopefully Haggy-me would find her own little catch
Yep, here you go Dirky sit yourself right by me
And after the wedding we'll run off in glee.

Its probably a bit premature but we could be on the lookout just in case The thought of Dirk possibly attending a wedding could sway them in the right direction I agree an invite for all regulars on this thread is a must. After all without us it may never have happened

Loving your peom Zeus I'm no good at poetry but I'm sure someone will come up with something more appropriate!

Hi Haggy-me - BG was good today - it was the follow-up to yesterdays episode. Starbuck as always looked gorgeous. When he's not in a scene I get impatient waiting for him to come back on again

Great poem Haggy-me Well done. You have a lovely way with words

I'm like that too! Sometimes I lose track of the story cos I'm wondering how long it'll take Starbuck to come on again. BTW last night Gillian McKeith was going on about azuki beans, and I randomly announced to my housemate that the azuki was 'the king of all the beans'! Think I may be going slightly mad....

I missed today's follow up to yesterdays episode. I will have to watch it at 6pm for more dashing Starbuck action . I am falling in love with Starbuck's character more and more by the day and i am like you, getting impatient whenever there is no Starbuck in a scene.
I have to say that for a programme that was aired in 1978...it was way ahead of its time in terms of programming and quality. It has stood the test of time and it is still watchable and entertaining as it was all those many years ago.
