Yes, I would just be completely

But the awkward moment might possibly be broken, by me suddenly blurting out -

"my friend fancies you.................."

I guess I was just really lucky that day, the poor girl interviewing him for radio couldn't get a word in half the time once he got going!

If you meet him you must, I repeat MUST ask for a photo and a quick hug too and take a deep breath and inhale that manly Dirky scent. Just try not to pass out after you've done it though...... I know he didn't like that evil witch Cleo hugging him but I'm sure if you ask nicely he'll oblige

I was a bit nervous about meeting him but I'm so glad that I got over my nerves and actually plucked up the courage to meet him, I get terribly nervous meeting people that I have a real crush on and am surprised that I actually managed to blurt out a whole coherent sentance (even though he's probably heard that line a thousand times or more!)

I can't claim to make judgements on the man based on one brief meeting and his stint on CBB but from what I have seen and experienced first hand I believe him to be just a top bloke, a real nice fella with a great sense of humour and a complete lack of ego and I really wish him all the luck and happiness in the world (if I manage to make it back up to Collectormania this year I shall tell him that myself )”

Geek you have a lovely way with words Dirk in person sounds exactly the way he came across on CBB - genuine, witty and down to earth, although it is lovely to have this confirmed by someone who has actually met him

I'm impressed you were able to speak at all to him, I'm sure I would start into some incoherent rambling

*passes out at thought of hugging Dirk and inhaling manly scent*

Sounds like a plan Almira Dress identically and take it in turns to use the gold pass. As Shelly said no passport control to go through which will make it much easier to get the vital sample for analysis

I completely agree with your last post Geekoftheweek. So nicely put Even though it was a surprise meeting with Dirk its probably just as well otherwise you may have found it harder to speak to him. As I just said, I know I'd be lost for words and just stand there and admire the view!

That's a very valid point! - I was thinking of the possibility of DNA collection being slightly easier in UK, rather than the turkey baster scenario in Alcatraz

I would be happy to still wear my white coat and black glasses though - for DNA collection purposes - if necessary

Thank you for your kind words shelly, I have been meaning to write an essay on this years CBB (not for any real reason but to get all of these thoughts out of my head!) but have so far not got round to starting it. The plan is to write a few paragraphs about each housemate and their contribution to the house and what affect they had on their fellow inmates and that atmosphere in there. If I ever get around to doing it I shall post it here for you to read

I only managed to get my first sentance out and then a few odd words here and there as Dirk got into full swing and did most of the talking for the pair of us!

You've made me laugh at the thought of the radio interviewer not being able to get a word in edgeways once Dirk started talking So true! He told Leo off for the self same thing but we love him for it

I know I could never ever ask him for a hug no matter how much I wanted one

I'd be brave and ask for you. I wouldn't want one of us Dirklings to miss out on a Dirk hug If Dwight's there, I would be wanting a hug from him also

Most of the guests at Collectormania are more than happy to pose for photos if ask them nicely enough - after all, you have just paid to meet them!

Rolf Harris got on to my train once, but sat beside me, not opposite - I was SO relieved
Another girl got on, sat opposite him and immediately said "Hello!", before she realized that she didn't actually know him, but it was Rolf Harris .....

So I can't IMAGINE what seeing Dirk in the flesh would be like

I don't think I'd actually get to the end of the queue before collapsing

Can I ask - how long did you have to queue before you met him? It sounds so stressful - the anticipation!!

If I've paid for the privilege then maybe I may be able to pluck up the courage for a photo

Thanks for your kind offer Susann I think thats the only way I'd get a hug - if I had someone with me who was more brave than me

Hi.

I'm completely out of the loop so please don't jump on me if this has been posted, but I notice that 'Walker, Texas Ranger' runs after BSG on Bravo. It's on Skyjacked right now (series 2 episode 19) and it runs from Monday to Saturday, so by my counting, the episode with Dirk in it - Case Closed - series 3, ep 19) should be on our screens Friday March 16th at 7pm.

Though counting has never been my strong point so correct me if necessary!

Adrenaline usually takes over in these sort of circumstances and usually prompts you into saying things that you noramlly wouldn't, it took me ages to come back down after meeting Dirk and Dwight. It's a real good buzz which is why I probably went to lots of conventions a few years back, I've lost count of how many times I've met James Marsters and Anthony Head as they seem to be at every Buffy convention going! I also met Nicholas Brendon (who played Xander) and David Boreanaz (who played Angel) Please pluck up the courage to go and meet him, you'll love it!

Right guys, I really must dash off for now. I shall try and pop in a little bit later, has been great chatting to you guys
