We should send Dirk a list of dates we can't make it - I'm sure he'll work around us

Lol the lottery isnt technically a competition so I aint that lucky at that - though I did win £444 on a scratchie a while back....paid for youngest daughters christening....actually I tried to throw the ticket away and a very honest man at the petrol station pointed out it was a winner

Yeah he is - he is a really nice bloke who did use to have a lot of time for his fans. Not seen him for a while so dont know now, but I doubt its changed.

I actually had some nice messages from him when I had Alex.....he even signed a pic of him.....that was courtesy of bea.....she took a pic of him for Darius to sign. Met his mum and little bro 4 yrs ago - she brought us lunch, she is very nice

That's good enough, you wouldn't want to be directly related to me anyway!

awww that's so lovely!

I really admire him, because he learned from his experience on Popstars and turned things around...and in the long run has had a much better career than Gareth Gates. I still get annoyed becasue he was totally scr*wed over in the s/f to gaurntee a Will/Gareth final.....

I'm attaching a link to a piece written by Dirk, detailing events which led up to his directorial debut. (Kamikaze describes him perfectly. See how innocently he embraces professional hara-kiri!) I love this. I suspect it is an excerpt from "Cowboy". As my copy has finally been dispatched and is on its way, I was loathe to read it at first - but, naturally, I couldn't resist. I felt so sorry for him as I read this, although I had to laugh. A real innocent abroad! (Check out the final picture. A darned fine impression of Nigel Havers, I would say!

It's easy to see why he hasn't been interviewed too often, despite being utterly compelling. He has too much dynamite when it comes to expounding his controversial opinions. Considering his background and upbringing he would need to be a man's man and who's to say he's wrong? (I would add that, having espoused feminist objectives throughout my career, they did not bring the satisfaction I thought they would. I actually agree with his point of view!! My husband shared this same old-world world view - and I'll admit, it worked. He was utterly wonderful to me, a 'guy' guy, like Dirk; strong, capable, fearless and very gallant. A real sweetie - and dead easy to handle. Would that I could have him back. I'd do things differently, second time around.)

Lesson over! Here's the link.

Evening all

Thanks for the link to Dirk article Hermoine I've just finished reading it and found it very interesting. There no need to worry, its not an extract from Cowboy although bits and pieces of that article are mentioned in the book.
