Thanks for all the great screencaps that have been posted

Hermoine I understand your frustration where Dirk was concerned with regard to his career but you have to admire him for being his own man and doing things his way. As you say he is talented in so many areas. I love his writing style and am sure there is more to come in that area. I'm still hoping that acting is still something he will continue too if something ignites his interest enough.

You have quite a way with words yourself and find myself agreeing with what you have to say ”

Awwww! Thanks for that, DenJ! I'm very flattered, actually. Yes, of course, I do admire him for being his own man. It's one of his most admirable qualities. I think he's a very exceptional man in every way. That's why it's been hard to see him overshadowed in his chosen field by so many lesser men. There are few of them, if any, who would have turned their backs, tossed up their careers and devoted their lives to being a hands-on single dad. And his boys look to be turning out just like him! Montana breeds some mighty fine lads!

Once again I completely agree with you He is an exceptional person in so many ways and the fact that he put his life more or less on hold for so many years to bring up his two sons makes him even more exceptional.

Good luck, then! Perhaps you should tell him that all things Dirk will find a market here.

Yes, I did try a hack! No, it didn't work! But, then, I have to get someone else to change my lightbulbs.

Any chance you can watch it on your pc?

Im a big fan of Michael J Fox (have been for years) and i think him and Dirk both have that ability - they can make a character who on paper (Face/Alex P Keaton for example) have their fair share of faults both lovable and endearing.

Btw - how fantastic was the Fred Astaire BSG eppie the other day. I actually cried. **hides head in shame** ”

This is why he refers to himself as being "vapid and shallow". It isn't true, of course. I think he's an incredibly passionate and intense man. How sad he has not remarried.

He was very taken with Fred Astaire. The very last shot in the final scene seemed to show a mutual liking and certainly a friendship. Dirk and Starbuck had much in common.

A glaring lack of continuity in so far as Chameleon did not appear in the very next episode to support his son when on trial for his life. (And ten hours to prepare a defence?)

No DVD drive! I have a very powerful PC - but it's loaded up with work more than anything else. When it comes to technology, I'm Wilma Flintstone!

How frustrating to actually have it in your hands but not be able to watch it I don't have a clue when it comes to technology either. I rely on either my son or hubby to help me out when I need it

i have always thought he could have played any of Harrison Ford's characters. from star wars , indiana jones, to the romantic comedy stuff like working girl, sabrina, 7 nights 6 days, or action like clear and present danger

*delurks and waves hello; resists urge to quote Dirk's lines upon entering the BB house *

Whew! Well that's certainly been a long time coming, given that I've been lurking on this thread off and on since it's second or third day. I guess I never saw much point in registering since living in the U.S. I couldn't watch CBB anyways. In fact, everything I do know about Dirk's time on CBB is via clips posted on YouTube and this forum, this thread in particular. So thank you all for keeping me up to date and well informed on all of Dirk's witticisms, Dirky dancing, the various tasks, Dirk flirting with Shilpa, and even the nightmares of Jade and Cleo. For my own part I suppose I have been indirectly contributing to this thread, as I've noticed that some folks have enjoyed some of my screen caps.

At any rate, because of the time difference and how quickly this thread moves, I don't know how actively I will be able to particiapte, but I'll be sure to chime in with the Dirk appreciation from time to time. Good nigh-- er, good morning!

That was such a fun day! I can remember people creating new e-mail accounts in order to register multipe-votes! I've sometimes wondered if Dirk realised that it was essentially a popularity contest....75% of the vote!!!

I'm a bit cross by the UK-centric oscar reporting, yay for Helen Mirran, but the fact is Marty winning his first Oscar is a much, much, much bigger story!
