I'm afraid it will violate copyright. Be patient. My book took ages to arrive but it's well worth the wait. I'm absolutely loving it - and I have a whole new respect for Dirk.

It would be easy for his detractors to dismiss him as a crank - and he'd be the first to admit he's a nut, I'm sure, (albeit a very likeable one), but he has such profundity. Having studied religion and philosophy a little, I'm not unfamiliar with his passion - and it's perfectly rational and balanced. He lives his passion and he's a shining example of the truth of it. His level of self-discipline is utterly astonishing and it's so refreshing to think that a "celebrity" can pursue spartan simplicity in his life, live it and mean it. My respect for him grows with each chapter - even if I am giggling constantly.

my question to him would be why did you think the idea of putting poo in The Tickle's shoes would have been funny....

It depends on the question

You could ask him if he liked Dirk in CBB and if he knows there is a Birthday thread for Dirk

I haven't quite plucked up the courage - but, yeah, reading the recipe I'd say it'd taste great, actually.

I've just started it, but I can't seem to find the time atm to sit and read it in big chunks, which is what I want to do rather keep stopping and starting in little bits.

Thanks RGWT - I am going to a friend's house for dinner (four of us take it in turn every Thursday to cook dinner at home) - I'm a bit surprised they've invited me this week because they did have to sit and listen to quite a bit of Dirk conversation last week and as none of them watched CBB, I must say they were very understanding !

Memo to myself: must brush up on current affairs, local gossip and films, tv that don't feature DB - the things you are forced to do in the name of friendship

Anyway, I've got Dirks present and music chosen so my priorities are sorted
