I've been on a long journey when it comes to food and diet from when I was 18, when I had a major stomach operation, I had on going trouble till I was 25, and my gluten allergy was diagnosed after being told for some time the stomach pain I had was first of all IBS and then stress related. At this point I weighed 6 1/2 stone.
So I cut out food with gluten, and then eventually most dairy and red meat, as after reading up on it found that given the problems I'd had with my stomach, it would struggle to digest food like that.
As for the macrobioitc diet, ironically quite a lot of that food is loaded with gluten and very bad for me.....barley, bulger wheat, couscous, wheat, rusk, rhy, semolina etc..... however, I do tend to focues on eating 'whole foods' so there are elements of it in my diet.
