So why am I joining the Forum now do you ask? Yup you’ve guessed it, the power of the Dirkside has got to me as well! And could you blame me?! Not only is he funny, witty, intelligent, talented and HOT!!!!! But he also seems like a genuinely really nice and inspirational guy and after reading one of the Forum member’s (forgot who, please forgive me) personal experience meeting him, it just ended up proving most of us right about him. Before I go on, I would just like to wish Dirk a huge HAPPY 62ND BIRTHDAY!!!!!
Like most people here I did used to watch “The A Team” when I was a kid but I couldn’t remember much of it (in fact the only thing I remembered was Mr. T) but my sister is about 6 years older than me and has a much better memory of it. So when they unveiled the last Housemate to be non other than Mr. Dirk Benedict himself, my sister screamed “FAAAAAAAAAAACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” And I was like “WTF?! Who the hell is…(clips of Face from The A Team is gets shown) OH WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE’S HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” and from that moment on my memories of “The A Team” came rushing back to me and I suddenly fell in love with Dirk (I still think he’s hot BTW). And the more I watched him and learnt more about what he went through in his life; the more I liked and respected him more.
In fact both him and Shilpa became my joint favorites and I wanted one of them to win because to me they both deserved it the most and in my eyes both been the most genuine and entertaining of the lot (I liked Shilpa before the whole Bullying fiasco BTW).
So I’m happy that Shilpa won but I’m not too happy about Dirk coming 3rd. Don’t get me wrong, I think 3rd place is brilliant and I really liked Jermaine too, in fact if anything I think he’s a fantastic role model for us Muslims like myself and I for one would proudly associate myself with him (why can’t the media focus on Muslims like Jermaine more instead of the few nut cased minority?! Drives me so mad!!!!!) but come on let’s be honest! He didn’t even do much in the house! So Dirk could’ve at least come 2nd. Oh well, 3rd is still good I suppose.
Now I know most of you have a great sense of humour here and I have too but I’m afraid I’m going to get abit serious here so please forgive me.
This is about the JJ and Coach interview. I don’t know about the rest of you but I do not like them one bit at all. These 2 are so far right that you could see them slipping at the edge of the cliff and I’m not even a liberal! I hated how they just stereotyped Muslims like that without even trying to separate the 2! At least Dirk had a big enough brain to make it clear that the parents of the suspected terrorist had nothing to do with it and is in as much shock as the rest of us! And unlike JJ and Coach actually used the words “Islamic Fanatics” instead of just “Islamists” like them.
Although saying that there is something about Dirk I would like to say too but before I do I would just like to make it clear that I DO NOT believe for one minute that Dirk is a racist, hell I doubt he’s even anti-Islam, you only have to see his relationship with both Shilpa and Jermaine to see that and in his BBC interview where he even described Jermaine as a Muslim normally without one spite in him saying it (unlike that Jackeiy with the way she called Shilpa “that Indian”! and she had so much spite in her when she said it. Oh how I love context). However, I did think Dirk’s reaction about Burquas was abit OTT and exaggerated, especially when only a very small handful of Muslim women ever wear them (I did however find it quite funny how the woman reacted when he said her Burqua was beautiful though). I don’t actually wear the Headscarf myself but my sister does and I can honestly say she wears it out of her own free will, no ones made her wear it and I think the only reason why more Muslim women are starting wear Burquas now instead of just Headscarves more is because of reactions like Dirk’s. After all it’s part of human nature to rebel against what other people are saying. I’m personally ok with Headscarves but I’m not really a fan of Burquas myself but that’s for another thread.
I also don’t understand what he means that Britain is losing it’s culture (and again he’s also made it clear that he openly welcomes multiculturism and immigration which is another proof to me that he’s not a racist). Don’t get me wrong I agree that Britain should NOT lose it’s culture at all and expect to change it’s ways but last time I checked there are A LOT of patriotic people living around my area, hell their even still hanging England flags up everyway, people are still studying Shakespeare and not one PC story so far has turned out to be true (I’m also not a fan of PC myself but come on you’ve go to admit most of these PC stories are either made up or taken out of context by the s***stirring Daily Mail and The Scum err I mean Sun Newspapers and who in their right mind would take what these Newspapers say as Gospel truth?!). So nope, I don’t think Britain is losing it’s culture anytime soon and I’ll happily say it shouldn’t either.
Whoa gone abit of topic there, better stop. Saying all that I did enjoy Dirk’s JJ and Coach Interview though. I just don’t like them that’s all (sorry JJ and Coach fans, really; I tried liking them honest but just can’t bring myself to do it). I’m also not fond of Dirk’s other right wing views but hey, they’re only his views at the end of the day and he has the right to hold and voice these views of his. Besides, no ones perfect and Dirk being the decent human being he is far out weighs his flaws and that to me is what all that matters. It’s the person you are that’s important not views that you disagree with, that’s just silly.
Well I’m sorry I got abit serious just now, I’m not usually like this honest but I just had to get this off my chest, so again I’m really sorry about that. Now; back to the lovely Dirky.
I’ve now become hooked on “BSG” and watched 4 episodes of “The A Team” on Youtube and I’m planning to buy them on DVD as soon as I’ve finished my Art Course (I plan to be an Animator). I also keep watching the lovely Shirk moments on Youtube and guess what? I’m not even bored of watching them over and over again (oh god this obsession is getting bad! Needs to seriously get a life).
Man I sure do talk too much. Well, gotta go and catch up with the rest of this thread now. Hopefully when I have some more time I’ll write again here soon and try not to talk so much this time (and also just chill this time, I hate being serious, I don’t like it at all). Speak to you all soon Dirk fans.
P.S. Am I the only Dirk fan who wants to see how Dirk looks like when he’s turning into snake?! Surely he must still look good anyway right?!! (Gets hit with a frying pan) I’ll get my coat.
P.S.S. Fruits if you’re here now, HI!!!!! And once again thanks so much for helping me out.”
hehee

this is the longest post I have ever seen
and your first ! wow.
nice to meet you Red-Eye

I think JJ & Coach are beyond my comprehension in their show content - i know none of the people they talk about apart from the big ones, for a start. I much prefer Jeremy Vine

I personally have the feeling that Dirk gets his politics from a desire to see a better world. He doesn't have any malice to any race at all but what does bother him is the youths who are becoming violent and he doesn't know why. I think he is a frustrated man in a sense. but theres somethng about him isn't there? something wonderful. its like a magnet lol
Anyway Red-Eye we've a party to get to haven't we
and purposely quoted red-eyes post to push that thread count up
