CELEBRITY HOUSE OF HORROR - THE REVENGE

Part 1

It was 6 months since Celebrity House of Horror and Dirk Benedict was beginning to recover from the ordeal. The tranquility of his home in Montana had worked its magic. He no longer felt compelled to sleep with a loaded shotgun by his bed. He realised Fag Ash Lil wasnt going to come and get him. Dirk felt it was time to go back to work.

An offer came from his old friend, the film director Den Bussell. He was making a new musical based on the plot of Dante's Inferno. Dirk thought it sounded like a lot of fun and Den was a very persuasive man.

It was lovely seeing Den again and Dirk caught up with some of his other Celebrity House of Horror pals too. Cato popped by. But Dirk, sensing that Cato had become unnaturally attached to him, gently asked him to back off.

She'd perfected a 30 second belch and liked to ring Dirk at 3am and make him laugh at it. Some times the phone rang and there was just silence. Dirk found these calls the most disconcerting.

She had developed a new comedy character, Tart was her name. Tart liked to accost Dirk in the street and try to lure him into dark doorways for God knows what purpose.

Sometimes Tart would just stand in the street and gesticulate obscenely at him.

Dirk wasn't particularly troubled by this new persona. He knew how to deal with tart's. As long as Tart was there then Fag Ash Lil wasn't and that suited him.

But what of Hoopla. Dirk hadn't seen her since the wrap party.

He thought of her often, sometimes crying himself to sleep, the tears trickling onto his pillow. I hope that's tear's Dirk!

Since Celebrity House of Horror, runner up, Hoopla had become a huge media star. You couldn't switch on the TV or open a newspaper without seeing Hoopla staring out at you. She'd been on the cover of Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Horse and Hound.

She'd met the Queen, and the Prime Minister - Mrs Thatcher I believe it was in this timeframe. Several minor Royals wanted to marry her.

Hoopla had become a new noun in the revised English Dictionaries.

Definition -

Hoopla n. - A great amount of public fuss, commotion or uproar with attendant publicity or media interest (slang)

They'd even named a fairground game after her.

But despite all this fame and adulation, Hoopla wasn't happy.

Den, wonderful old stick that he was, decided that something had to be done to bring these two together. He invited them both to his lovely home in the New Forest.

Within days Dirk asked Hoopla to be his wife.

Their wedding soon followed. Hoopla looked lovely in her 1980's style polyester frock. Dirk just looked lovely.

The Vicar asked if any person knew of any lawful impediment why ... Oh heck, who's that lurking at the back in a bad wig. Just when we were expecting a happy ending.
