A young guy, with talent - held back by physical problems, gets a chance to actually pursue his talents (and he is talented) and interests. In any other society that would be applauded. Only in this society would there be those who deride. Makes me really angry, considering the impact he has had on kids with similar problems who could go down such sorry self loathing routes - but have seen they can celebrate their uniqueness.

Hi Trinsk..I agree with what you say as usual..but I feel I have ben fighting the same battles and arguing the same arguments all my life.

But I think Petes going to be fine, he has a huge grwoing fan base...good sensible management and realistic expectations..and hes picking up friends and support along the way

Hes not gone for the novlelty one hit wonder..he's doing it right...and the excellent way he handled the one or two hecklers in Brighton (and it was only one or two from the huge crowd there from the video I've seen of it) was brilliant...I'm sure he had worse playing in pubs with DF..

Agree with you there. Far better to slowly but steadily build up a fan base rather than do what he could have done which was realease a sinlge as soon as he came out the house and gone for for the novelty factor. Hes putting in the hard work and will get there. Cant wait until the london date is announced.

I commented on the fact you said the story which is about Pete (whom you are a great fan of) was badly written and unoriginal. Sounded like sour grapes to me.

How remiss of you because it's there in black and white...read the posts...I never mentioned any story featuring Pete,only one featuring me ,which you sprang to defend .
And as for the ''pot ,kettle,black'' remark ...I haven't been involved in on-line bullying , such as applauding the bullying of Pete-fans being ridiculed ,including children , on you-tube ....I have no problem with people liking/disliking any former HM ...I do have a problem with forum members being bullied and picked on whether on this site or others....seems you endorse this behaviour.
Like most people I have moved on ,and don't take an interest in former HM's who I disliked , don't obsessively follow them or their fans from thread to thread , I concentrate on supporting those who I like, if a few people can't move on then good luck to them ,let them carry on with their obsessions , but bullying in what ever form should not be applauded and should be condemned ,surely some lessons were learned from CBB5...and even if thinly disguised as a ''story'' it's still bullying.

Is there another story out there that I'm missing out on

and B)ONLY SOMEONE WHO ENDORSES ON-LINE BULLYING OF FELLOW FORUM MEMBERS WOULD FIND IT AMUSING.

I think you will find a Pete fan got totally ridiculed/bullied by his fans and by Pete himself....Just because some posts/threads/chats get removed doesnt mean the content isnt copied and kept. Shameful the lot of you. As for the children comments.......didnt/doesnt seem to matter when it comes to the filth discussed in certain chatrooms.
Youve moved on? Yeah right....your obsession hasnt though. I actually feel sorry for Pete at times. Im suprised you havent been named as his PA yet as you appear to know his every move and bowel motion. Quite scary tbh.

Sorry PAT FM's for interupting your thread but I do have my reasons for this post. I did witness on-line bullying, not on DS I have to say but on another site with close links.

But its ok for Pete fans to bully youtubers though huh!

What I find shameful is with which the word "bullying" is inappropriately brandished around without course or substance. As far as I can see, as a lurker and not a poster, is a fantastically well-written and entertaining tale on a particular thread that many forum members are enjoying reading, it's on topic, it's light-hearted and meant as a bit of light-relief in a forum that is fraught with hostility and over-zealous egos that cannot see past their own arrogance. It's a story.

I fail to understand why one person assumes that she is deemed so wonderfully important that she must feature in everything relating to Pete Bennett and his life and therefore by consequence must feature in a piece of fiction about him.

Bullying is an important and disturbing act and there is not a shred of evidence that appears before me that concludes that this is or has been the case on either thread.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Not for one minute do I think that someone who is as animated as you with your posting, has never ferociously attacked another forum member or posted derogatory comments at one stage or another. I'm sure it is highly likely and easily sought out.

Only you, by association linked the story to your own self. That just exudes arrogance and a penchant for your own self-importance.

A story is just a story.

I see we have had several visits. Just for the record I thought the character was based on Wanda due to the physical characteristics etc. The description was uncanny, it seemed to be based on photographs of Wanda. I can't speak for anyone else as I came to the conclusion on my own. Of course I can't prove it either way.

As this is an apreciation thread I will leave it at that as I don't want to add fuel to the fire.

...I'm a bit long in the tooth for fan fiction these days (I assume thats what it is? some kind of story about Pete? )...I leave that kind of thing to the kids...I find real life confusing enough without wandering into the realms of fantasy..LOL

Anyway..its nothing to do with this thread and I'm not really interested in it...I'm more interested on finding out when this London gig is going to be booked so I can buy my blooming tickets..

And it is a shame about Glastonbury..it sounded like fun....I hope the bit about the dog is true though ..
