How did you do your projection for last week - did you use the actual sales from the week before, or her average sales from all previous 5 weeks?

I just take the previous weeks midweeks for that day , work out the difference between that and her end of week total for that week, and then use that figure to give a projection for this week
.Last week Wednesdays mids gave the nearest accurate projection(40500!). I use the friday mids for my final projection though.
Most accurate final projection was for 11/11/2007.
proj was 112487, actual was 111978.
Albums wise ,Im going to have to start factoring in xmas sales I think, projection this week was 155K, actual 164K!.

Yeah, there was a post yesterday with number 1 album sales from Mid Nov-end of year for 2006 and they were increasing every week from the w/e 3rd Dec!
I'm gonna do a projection as well - I'll post mine tomorrow lunch when we get the midweeks.
Although my estimate for this week was 110k (made 2/3 weeks ago) which looks to be way off!!!
According to MusicWeek Leona has now sold about 16,000 more than Dido over the first 20 days on sale (she sold 376k v 402k in the first week), and is on track to become the fastest female artist to reach 1 million sales with an album.
when xmas sales take effect, we'll be able to have a better idea whever she can beat Amy to best selling album of the year.
Its incredible to think that Leonas current 737,000 sales is after just 20 days!.

Did Dido release her album in the run-up to Xmas like Leona has? If she didn't, then Leona is a cert to get to a million quicker, particularly due to the inflated sales at this time of year

Yeah, and crucial in all of this will be just how much AW herself gets. I'm sure Leona can beat AW current total (approx 1.3 million) and then some (prob at least 1.5m), but if AW scores 200-300k over the Xmas period it might just be neck and neck.

September 30, 2003 was Didos release date for Life for rent.
It was released the last week of September and number 1 for 4 weeks, dropped off the top for two weeks, back up for 1 week, back down for 3 weeks, and then top again for the last 3 weeks of the year.

whilst looking for didos sales, I noticed that Alex Parks sold 600, 000 of her first album 'Introduction', thats a lot more than I thought!. double platinum, where did it all go wrong for her after that?, I liked Alex.

So she prob took longer to reach 1 million than Leona will since her first, say 6 weeks will be from early October to Mid November, whereas Leona's are mid Nov to Xmas with prob (guessing) 50% higher sales each week, particularly in the latter 3 of Leona's
