Yeah .. I really hope she does turn up.

Thought she would considering shes got 4 nominations and went to the BRITs school ..

Hi! Just dropping in from the LAT to congratulate Leona on her BRIT noms! Really hope she wins in at least one category, but just to get the nominations is a big achievment....

Have you emailed the news to perez, if not send him a decent pic like the ones at the GQ awards!!

Fair enough, but I think she's got the Best Female (given the competition) in the bag, and I just cannot see her failing to win the Best Breakthrough (see below)

Radio 1 listeners vote for the Breakthrough Act so it'll probably go to the Klaxons. And the Best Single is a wild shoot out probably won by the act with the biggest female fanbase: Take That.

Leona's best hope is Best British Female.”

Breakthrough act is (also?) voted on BRITs website - with multi-voting allowed. She's got a chance of that.

Agree re the Best Single to an extent - BL sold quadruple what Shine did, so I'd suggest it will go right to the wire on this one - BL's extra sales picking up casual voters vs. TT's multi-voting army.

Nope I haven't, I'm sure he'll find out some way or another. He usually ignores when I send him pics anyway and just posts whichever he wants lol.

As she will have new rnb material on her US release hopefully the reviews will be better for the US.

Are there always only 6 acts performing at the BRITs every year?

True! It does say "Six of The BRIT Award performers confirmed", not "All of The BRIT Award performers confirmed".

Maybe she was waiting to see if she was nominated before deciding on if she was attending and possibly performing.

Any idea when bookies put up their odds?

This is an interesting quote from the voting section of the BRITs Best Single section:

Quote:
“Cast your vote by clicking on the link next to your favourite single of 2008. Multiple votes are allowed, but only your last vote will be counted.”

This relates to the pre-show vote. There are a series of rounds, each of which closes as follows:

Quote:
“

Round One: 23:59 GMT 14th February 2008
Round Two: 23:59 GMT 15th February 2008
Round Three: 23:59 GMT 16th February 2008
Round Four: 17:00 GMT 17th February 2008
”

One of the songs is knocked out in each round

The final round (Round 5) is on the night of the show, where the final 5 songs battle each other.

Its not clear whether multi-voting will be allowed that night, but if its not, it probably quadruples Leona's chances of best single

It'll be a phone/text vote, surely?

I'd imagine in the next day or two. They usually move pretty quick on these things.

There's nothing up on Oddschecker yet, I'd expect that's because the bookies only found out the nominations at the same time as the rest of us

Dont understand, so whats the point in multiple voting if only the last is counted for? Cant you change your name/email address on the first bit or does it go on ip address?

I think so

There must be a phone vote system out there (or capable of being designed) that discounts any multiple votes. I wonder if the BRITs are thinking of employing it this year?

The revenue from the phone votes is also less important for the BRITs (charitable organisation) than it is for a private company such as ITV.

I'm not sure. Its not clear, but it could be taken to mean that you can vote as many times as you like (i.e. if you make a mistake you can still vote as your second vote will override your first), but its a strange way of wording it.

Yeah, it would be horrible if she wins loads of awards, and not there to attend them.

Yup think that's it, or if you change your mind.
